She named them, I bet they will live to be a very old arthritic pair of bovines who failed to enter the food chain, instead contributed who knows how much methane to the greenhouse gas problem.

Yep the fires are in the state I live in. I think everyone here knows someone who has been affected in some way by them.... my colleague was telling me about how when she and her family were evacuated from their home (she lives in the city but had gone home to visit her family for the weekend) they fully expected to never see it again. Scary scary stuff.

First I don't think that anyone will have to worry about those cows being cooked. Everyone knows that Holly can't cook. To the ones down under. I hope that somehow those fires go out soon. 60 out tomorrow with rain. It is suprising to see the snow melt so fast but supposed to snow again thursday.

Gooooooood morning, my favouritest bunch o' pervs!! It's so warm and cozy outside that I thinks I may break out the shorts today! Yesterday, it was so warm that most of our snow melted.

Heya, Wanders or Angel, are they publishing a list of affected towns and the people? Ummmmm, I knew the Healesville area quite well, had mates there. How's the sanctuary? Has it been affected? I was there in 82 and 83 so I have a pretty darn good idea what's going on.... Is there a map showing specific locations of the fires?

Hi Rain, Healsville has been listed as in danger tonight, as you know the whole region is/was beautiful Australian bushland, it was a ghastly combination of record breaking heatwave almost 2 weeks, the fuel load is crisp and dry, and really fast winds, I have heard of embers 10-15 kms before the fire front. Unfortunately a few people with no social conscience lighting fires. I am pleased to see the arsonists will be charged with murder. It is a catastrophe and I think most Victorians are quite depressed about the events and the loss of so many lives and homes.

i saw on the news this morning the death count was up to 128, and expected to go much higher. How tragic, especially because of arson.
