why was cooking frustrating - didn't behave itself? didn't raise? didn't taste as nice as it should have, didn't have the ingredients??

i only made soup. hard to have that one go wrong, thank goodness.

Status: offline 		The waffles were terrible.  They tasted okay, they just were not what I wanted in a waffle.  There was NO light and fluffy to them even though I beat the egg whites until their peaks were stiff, used the baking soda, sifted the flour.  ~  Okay fine. . . I will adjust the recipie or find a different one to try.

The new pasta dish that I made to try was rather bland.  ~  Okay. . . there are things that I can do with the recipie to adjust this.  *sigh*

I made philly cheese steaks.  ~ THIS should have been easy enough.  Except like a dumb-ass, instead of flipping the little lid up on the seasoning to reveal the little holes. . . I unscrewed the top.  Yeah.  They were well seasoned sammies. 

Oh!  And the pre-cooked bbq pork stuff I bought from Schwan's!  Never ever ever doing that again.  I will just make my own.  Cheaper and less hassle.

Status: offline 		well, it's finally cooling off here a tad.....which means it's not 115....only 105.....so I'll probably start cooking again....I'm telling you, crock pots and electric fry pans are my best friends!

I'm looking at places to live in Florida....why is it that everyone has electric stoves???  What ever happened to cooking with gas?  I can't stand electric stoves/ovens......I inevitably burn at least one batch of everything once.  And I live in fear that the cats will walk across a stove burner......I put a pan of cold water on the burners I use so it at least covers the thing.  I found my dream stove at the Home Depot's Expo store.....gas, 6 burners, a griddle, a grill, 2 ovens, a pizza oven, and 2 warming drawers....it's only about 7 feet long.  And at the time I found it, it was only $8500......'course, that was like 6 years ago, so there's no telling what'll cost now!  The hood for it was $5000......but I plan on building my dream home eventually, and I can guarantee the bulk of the money will be spent in the Kitchen and Master bath......I'm talking chef quality kitchen, and a spa quality bath!  All I hafta do first is win the damn lottery!

Status: offline 		Aylee, my friend makes waffles alot, and she barely mixes the batter together.....apparently, it all meshes together as it cooks...and her waffles are to die for!  I think she uses the Betty Crocker cookbook recipe.  Just an idea......

Status: offline 		Yeah. . . I thought that it was pretty weird that it wanted you to mix the dry ingredients in with an electric mixer and then fold in the egg whites.  I have never mixed pancakes or waffle batter with an electric mixer.  Ah well.  I will find a different recipie. 

And that stove/oven sounds WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I want one.

I'll keep that in mind when I win the lottery....maybe I can find a 2 for 1 sale?  Oh, and it came in stainless and RED...of all colors!
