I have done the keychain for zipper pulls for years. The original pulls are not strong enough.

Ya know, I have a bunch of those key chain blanks that are the ones that seperate. Perhaps some kind of xmas gift/stocking stuffer. I already have a couple things ~ little nail clipper set, and some plastic rings with troll hair (yeah folks these are not "serious" presents) and one other thing, I cannot remember.

I will have to look into that.

You know, that would be a fun project in a jewelry class, those kind that use lost wax casting, or silver clay. I've seen classes like that it community centers or adult ed, but haven't tried it...

i found some really cute kids key chains with my sons name on them to use for just this purpose, since little fingers have a difficult time with the little wee zipper pulls. Then his teacher saw it and had a fit. She said you never use anything with the childs name for a stranger to see. The stranger can call the child by name, convincing the kid that they are known to them, sent by mommy or daddy, etc. I should have known this. Stupid me. Now i use a small ribbon on the zipper pulls.

I did take a jewlry making class back in my university days, so I do have a few skills that way. Lost wax casting is FUN!

So...yesterday i had to take the LoudOne for a quick trip to the grocery store. We were still in the car, Mommy looking through her coupon file, and the kid playing with the window controls. A pickup parked in the space next to us and the LO gave the occupants his attention.

Suddenly he pointed a pudgy finger out of the window and bellowed "Look Mommy!! That mans head is very shiny!!" Of course he was totally bald. I was slightly mortified but the best was yet to come.

The other occupant from the truck walked around to the front, laughing at his bald friend. Then he spit tobacco on the ground. The LoudOne then hung out of the window, pointing the same finger and yelled "Hey YOU!!! My Mommy says spitting is very rude!! Do you want a time out???"

I never thought about a keychain. I just go into the tailor in town who changes the pulls for $5. Takes about a minute total.

Ya know, I never thought about a tailor's or alteration shop. I just did not want to have to take out the zipper and sew in a new one. Yes, I COULD do so. But I did not WANT to do so.
