Celeste, that is evil.  Why do you do this to me?  And you still owe me cookies.

Sunshine, there is always coffee here, if you feel like dropping in.  How are the tweets going?  Anything interesting happening?

sunshinemiss -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/16/2010 7:56:09 PM)

A couple of the students have started to tweet to each other in English (in less than 24 hours)... it's working!!!!

And I told them this joke: What is the meanest number? 7... because 7 8 9.... and one of them posted "I understand that 7 ate 9"... That made me happy.

How's the sweet lil Butter head? *give her a smooch for me!

Morning all, I'm about to go have breakfast and then take a nap. The Man's out of town till tomorrow and the kidlet slept at a friends. I would still be asleep if the dog didn't get pissy that his breakfast was late and started pounding on my door with his tail. Plus of course he had to go out and be pissy in a different sort of way.

sunshinemiss -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/17/2010 7:03:35 AM)

Hi everybody! I'm watching that Liam Neeson movie ... Is it called Taken?

I remember seeing (and loving) him in The Good Mother and in The Mission. At least I'm consistent...

How are all y'all?

KMsAngel -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/17/2010 7:09:26 AM)

Phoenixpower -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/17/2010 7:11:51 AM)

Hi everyone...

yesterday i finished work earlier...got home at 3pm-ish - (would have gotten home earlier if the bus driver wouldn't have dumped us again 5 stops before my stop as now "his time to work was over"...so why should he bother to finish his line and drive another 15 minutes with his passengers on board...that's of course too much to ask [8|] much better to let us waste our time for 20 minutes for the next bus which...what a surprise... was too late on that occassion) and decided to just rest an hour before cleaning up my chaos here...but once I woke up again it was midnight already [:)] great for my body....not so great for my chaos here [>:]

however, I decided to go to bed and got up at 12noon today...so that sleep should carry my through to my next 5 nightshifts coming up in a row (might be 6 night shifts but the 6ths isn't confirmed yet)...

now after some search for a particular dog breed I am interested in online (but doesn't seem to be popular over here and importing dogs to here is somewhat a pain in itself) I finally get my act together and start to bin my mess and tidy up my chaos...until I leave for my nightshift.

Happy weekend to everyone [:)]

Got "Taken" at the house myself.  Just have not watched it yet.

Lizard is enjoying her trip to NYC.  They went up to the Empire State building.

Today is Ellis island and the Statue of Liberty...I forget the rest of the day...

Tomorrow is the musical Chicago and hitting the museums.

I think she is impressed with the city...LOL

sunshinemiss -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/17/2010 8:19:53 AM)

.... well my bed is calling me. I hate it when it rings like that [;)]

Going to a photography exhibit tomorrrow. the guy who took the famous NatGeo pic of the Arab girl with the incredible eyes. Meeting a friend before hand for lunch and then ART!

Good night darlings. Have a great day... Oh, btw, I'm meeting the swoony Uni president on Tuesday... I hope he's tall.

Phoenix, what breed? My mother in law used to breed dogs, always unusual breeds.

Hi DesFIP

my dog book which informs about 200 different breeds of dog led to interest in the hovawart breed...

http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/hovawart.htm

but over here its incredible difficult to find a breeder (found 3) who then actually has any puppies at the moment or coming up....from the three I found one "might" breed towards the end of the year...and I am more looking for two dogs this summer/autumn, depends when I move on to rent a house once I got a job in my degree...(just planning ahead a bit right now).

I like on them that they look like labradors...but their character is more like the one from german sheppherd and thats what I am looking for...a dog who gives people I don't want in my house, a hard time...not a golden retriever who makes friend with them...

So seems have to stick to my plan towards german sheppherd and rottweiler or boxer again (rotteiler least likely, as I have a lil bit doubts to be dominant enough for that type of dog).

However, it just frustrates me that this hovawart breed is so difficult to find in regards to a possibility to actually get them.

Originally I wanted to go via rescue shelters but they are a pain in regards to not easily giving dogs to people who work fulltime...which of course I do....and whilst that is easier in animal shelters in Germany as there I just go there, pick my pet, pay and take it with me (which was another thought I had) from there it is a pain to get the pet into the UK as there certain tests nees to get done 6 months before taking the dog over...and needless to say, thats no option...can bother my parents with dogs for 6 months...

therefore by now I only see the option of taking on puppies once I am able to move or an adult dog from someone who sells his or her dog...though taking on a dog from a private person is in my opinion a higher risk then one from the animal shelter where several people can get an impression about how the dog is....so I am likely to stick to get two puppies at the end and most likely german shepphers.
