my dog book which informs about 200 different breeds of dog led to interest in the hovawart breed...

Absolutely beautiful, but looks to be a handful and a half to train. Now the mil had a Tervueren that had that kind of attitude. She had to wrestle it to the ground on it's back to force it to agree she was top dog. Not once but repeatedly and did herself some damage. I can't imagine what it would be like trying to train a dog that dominant when you're gone all day. Good luck.

Oh and this is them if you haven't heard of them, which I hadn't until she got one.

Evening All!!!!

There is some lemon cake iffn anyone wants any.  What I think that I really need is an angel food cake pan (for making lemon chiffon cakes) and a Bundt pan (for making Bundt pans.)  I have been craving lemon chiffon cake, and have been having to make do with other lemon-ey things.

Now if only I can remember to pick up an angel food cake pan at Wal-Mart or Target the next time I am there.  Good Luck with that.

thornhappy -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/17/2010 7:33:35 PM)

mmmmm.....lemon....mmmmmmm

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/17/2010 7:37:18 PM)

I know.  This time of year just brings it out in me.

Try training a feminist wolf/husky mix that she is not top dog.

Phoenixpower -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/17/2010 8:39:21 PM)

thanks Des and Jeff...no need to make me more nervous then i already am about the prospect of taking on dogs *sigh*

I just hope that my future employer allows working from home as much as my placement does...might make it easier with dogs...

LaTigresse -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/17/2010 8:50:00 PM)

New puppies!!! Very exciting!

I am getting a new GSD puppy in June. I never ever thought I would be able to own a dog with this calibre of breeding. Almost all of my dogs have been GSD, or a mixture of, rescues. The puppies usually sell for $ 3,000.00 - $ 5,000.00 and trained dogs for ten to twenty five thousand. But my sister is giving me one for my birthday. I am so excited.

Phoenixpower -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/17/2010 8:50:38 PM)

and thanks DesFip, nice looking breed, but certainly not for me. Guess i'll stick to German Sheppherds...and can already imagine how my dominant ginger cat would react to that family addition...but first of all I need to finish uni, get my desired job and move...then! the dogs are due...gosh i think i'll need an ark when i leave this isle for good *sigh*

Good Morning All!!!!

I cannot believe that I am up this early but I was just not able to fall back asleep.  Of course I am also too tired to really DO anything with this time either.  Arghhhh!  This not sleeping thing is killing me.

jlf1961 -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/18/2010 5:01:13 AM)

wanna some of my meds? [sm=juggle.gif] which colour would you like, they do help,i swear!

meant for my fms, but as GP said two years ago, they might help me to get me back into a sleepng routine as well, as getting knacked is on of their side effects...and gosh I wish he wouldn't have been right [:(] because whilst they do help, since I take them my body demands the bed when I am at home...which is counterproductive to do my uni work where I used to use the night most of the time [>:]

Let me describe my job to you, Aylee.  You'll sleep for weeks.  [sm=sleepy.gif]

DesFIP -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/18/2010 6:11:10 AM)

Hey if you're setting up an ark, I've got a horse for sale. Not that he's house trained, or trainable for that matter.

And now I'm looking at lemon chiffon cakes which I don't need.
