I have browsed through many profiles of subs and I see a re occuring theme. Why do subs feel the need to tell the entire collar community about the great things that go on between themselves and their Doms?? It is like the family newsletter where the part about Uncle Joe getting a DWI and Aunt Sarah banging the pizza delivery boy are conveniently left out. I have seen too many times, people expressing how perfect their relationship is, how deeply they love, how they found the perfect soul mate and three months later, they are saying the same thing about someone else.

My question is who are you trying to convince???

Please if you have over 500 post's do not reply, I would like some fresh insight.

Well considering I've never given mine on this issue, mine is fresh and you are outta luck - I don't obey you.

Some people like to brag about what is going right in their lives. I personally don't put all the things that are going wrong (though nor do I do a lot of bragging there either) because I don't feel the need to announce every time we fight or have a problem to the digital world. If something goes on that we can't solve, we may post here looking for insight but things usually get worked on their own with no real need to alert anyone. Plus, some people may not have friends or family who are happen for them. Their journal here may be the only place they have to express themselves regarding their relationship.

If you don't like it, simply move on.

What I write in my journal is expressly for my Sir to read. Part of why I put it on here is that it is a public forum (naughty me). Personally I couldn't care less whether anyone but my Sir read it or not. And I can't understand why the OP is perturbed by everyone's journals as no one is jamming his arm up hehind his back forcing him to read them....

A "fresh" opinion from a total newbie who actually enjoys (prefers) reading posts written by experienced, 'been here forever' people.

I don't think they are trying to impress anyone; just to share their joy.  I've seen complaints here on the boards that people come here only with problems, not to say how happy they are with their relationships.  If someone posts good news in their journals, yippee for them!  Anyone who chooses not to be happy along with them might be tasting sour grapes.

PEOPLE (tops/bottoms dominants/submissives masters/slaves and vanillas) love nothing more than to lie to themselves.

Of COURSE this person is perfect!  They have NO blemishes, NO issues, NO baggage and because they are perfect they must be perfect.

Then reality sets in, the warning flags ignored become abuse or annoyance, the blemishes suddenly can no longer be ignored and voila...long drama filled posts about what an asshole/bitch the ex was...

Rinse, Repeat....and the cycle continues

Healthy people TEND to go slower knowing that new relationships tend to be rosy and we tend not to see issues right away and they take time to become visible and we take that time.  As people get better at picking partners that time can be reduced.  However, they  make mistakes and thus part ways but because they make better picks and because they know how the process works they can shake hands, remain friends and part ways.

That is why LA has that saying about how the louder a relationship is proclaimed the shorter it will last.

BSB and I kept ours secret for months, then flirted obliquely here for a few more, and now we are so lovey dovey some people gag but we have been together through some hard times for each of us and are going on over a year and a half and know we are living a fairy tale.

The Op is a newbie and his interests say he loves exhibitionism. He's cyber only so I guess that means if a sub doesn't have a cam then he won't dominate them online. Excuse me, that should have said order them to undress so he can wank.

Hey, Emperor, I was going to mention -- not a big deal that I did it "first."  Not a lot of women who say, "I get so tired of all those different men writing poems about me."

Fresh insight...my sub/slave/bitch it good for uttering a few things "Yes", "Thanks You" & glorifying me. When he fails to remember his place, his training goes back to school, I have him write a "report" about ME, GLORIOUS ME.... His posts about me are a way for me to see that he's still thinking with his head not his cock. It also gives him an outlet to speak (sort of), b/c I don't feel like hearing his voice.

I had a couple in high school I really could have done without.
As someone who writes poetry that is good (yes, I know, but it is)
It was very difficult being gracious while watching someone mangle the English language (and not in a poetic fashion)
(ok, so I'm a language snob...so sue me! *lol*)

But, really, carry on, gentlemen, carry on!!
I don't mind at all!

Why do people write these things in their journal?

Who cares!! Well here in the western world there's something that's called freedom of speech. People are allowed to write and say whatever they want, no matter how you feel about the content, and they have no responsibility whatsoever to inform you of their reasons and impulses behind such writings. If you're constantly reading journals of a content you dislike, I advise you to stop reading those journals, nobody's forcing you to read them anyways. It's a self-created dilemma you're in.

I'm fresh, but so far agree with the croutons..  Who cares what is in a journal. To answer your question, it seems lots of people here have freinds and  maybe keep up with each other's lives through journals. *shrug*

Now, I am gonna have to hang out here a lot more to get as stale as some of my most respected favorites, hehe,,

Hrm, okay gonna play devil's advocate here...

Perhaps the OP was looking to encourage those that aren't frequent posters to the forums to put their two cents out there?  If that is the case, then his post was a shining example of "it's not what you say, it's how you say it" (running theme this month at Casa Wildcat)  I for one, though, would welcome with open arms and a plate of cookies, all responses regardless of the number of posts they have under their belt.  If, however, that is NOT the case, and he just had some aribitrary requirement for responses, then I have this to say:

Now, as for the journal entries, I don't have any so I can't speak from personal experience, but I do enjoy reading others'.  They provide funny quotes, insightful reflection to what may be going on in one's daily life, and sometimes contain the entries about their perfect, wonderful dom/master/whatever, and their perfect wonderful relationship, and the perfect wonderful hot sweaty kinky teeth chattering sexy times that the OP was grumbling about.  The journal part, not the sex part.  But if I DID journal, which I may, you never know, then I would definitely share so the person that is reading gets a chuckle, or a tingly feeling in their naughty bits, or some hope that they too can and will find what I would have found and would have been journaling about.  There's my two cents.

I personally dont write a journal, and if I did, it wouldn't be online for the world to see.  What goes on between me and my partner is strictly between us and our friends in the real world.  I dont believe in online journals for the world to read - it sort of scares me.  I cringe about thinking of strangers reading about my very personal life - it has nothing to do with them.

But of course, each to their own.  Whatever floats your boat!

Here you go, under 20 posts.  I'm practically a virgin.

Those journals are on the bizarre side, sort of like Ds Pleasantville.
Why sub write them, perhaps the dom/me likes the ego stroking, maybe the sub wants to show her devotion, or to show off or just because its a textual version of the constant babble some people indulge in.

How would you know?  Your member date is 5-27-08.  Last I checked, that's hmmmm, 14 days.  I didn't go to no fancy university, I only have my community college to fall back on, but last I knew, 14 days did not equal 3 months.  Which leads me to believe one of two things:
1. You constantly create and delete profiles.
2. You don't think before you type.

Seeing as I have the requisite "less than 500 posts" I hope I gave you some very fresh insight.
