But it's always great fun to see a dork get dorked.

The 'No, I'm a great sub,it's just that you aren't really a dom, you're a retard!" comeback is always amusing.

Dorks will use anything they can to shame, guilt and get you to listen to them.  They know lots of s-types just want approval from someone so having another person deny them that can be a great manipulator to get them to "prove" themselves.  And by that point, the battle's pretty much over.

Hey, i'm very proud to be a dork (insert whale genital joke here); and here you guys are making dork seem like a bad thing.

i... i... i... *sniff-sniff* thought you loved me

note: i never actually thought that, it was just thrown in for effect

I was told by a Dominant that I do not sound submissive. I did request some information when confronted with his rather implausible circumstances.

I admit to finding it amusing. I mean, really how does a submissive sound? Timid? Gullible? My intention was not to sound demanding or rude but potential Dominants must understand submissives are relegated to slaying dragons here, i.e. disputing the many misleading and duplicitous missives we receive each day.

Okay, 'nuff said. Back to writing a proposal for a client...merry

O dear... you scrunched the panties of some guy who relies on 2 years of watching the preview section of bad BDSM sites for his "Ten years of experience in the lifestyle"

When you did not drop to your knees to search out his teenie little e-peen at his first email, he got jacked off... but that's your fault, not his, because he doesn't have the capability to dominate anything other than his right hand, and he just doesn't get it.

I've been told many, many time's that I'm a horrid sub/slave. My Top thinks it's funny, and my sub tells me he'd be bored otherwise.

Make yourself happy, screw everyone else.

stella41b -> RE: The Misleading Dominant (6/6/2008 9:37:21 PM)

It's got nothing to do with how you sound or look, it's got everything to do with being submissive.

Preconceived notions, premature opinions and farts comes from the same place - an asshole.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: The Misleading Dominant (6/6/2008 9:41:56 PM)

I always found it funny when someone didnt "sound" submissive. Neither of my boys do, especoally when we are playing video games and Angel yells out "you SUCK at this!"
People seem to want someone who submits to everyone and enyone online, just becasue they are in the dark color and not the light. Me, I prefer someone who doesnt sound submissive and is only sub to me... and that has to be worked up to after all.

bashfulhuck -> RE: The Misleading Dominant (6/6/2008 9:52:00 PM)

I've had many Dominant Males try to tell me the same thing. And yes, towards them, I'm not a submissive. I don't submit to males, I'm way way too type A for that. And it's not just any Lady that can get me to submit either.
Towards those that gain my submission from me, I truly am theirs. Towards the rest of the world, I'm a very strong, assertive man that refuses to bow to them.
I think that makes me a very good submissive in the long run, because I'm not every Dominants bitch, just a select few hehe.

Sweet, innocent, demure and don't forget to blush and bat your lashes. Have I taught you nothing?

Oh sure. You have time to work but not to read your email.

Update: Clearly the dunderhead doesn't read because he is still demanding (via email) and hasn't answered my questions....and, Celeste of course I batted my lashes as I typed! Apparently it didn't work.

merrymischief, I hope you post often on here, I think I am gonna like you. (well already do! *smiles*)

Don’t you just love double standards. It’s amazing the tone taken toward a female submissive complaining about male dominants versus a male submissive complaining about female dominants. I know this probably won’t earn me any brownie points but oh well such is life. It must be nice to be a female sub and know that all you have to do is post a profile and just wait for the e-mails to start rolling in versus being a male sub and having to send out multiple messages hoping you at least get a courteous no thank you or not interested reply.

We have a guy who starts off asking for shortcuts (but manages to get in a dig to those who attend munches at the same time) and proceeds through the thread until we get to this ...

"You're right, I am considerably negative and I do now have a chip on my shoulder. I'm bitter and frustrated. I wasn't always like this but after having too many negative experiences via sites like these, I have changed."

vs Merry who asked a few questions (which were unanswered), was told she didn't sound submissive for it and had this reaction to it:

"I admit to finding it amusing. I mean, really how does a submissive sound? Timid? Gullible? My intention was not to sound demanding or rude but potential Dominants must understand submissives are relegated to slaying dragons here, i.e. disputing the many misleading and duplicitous missives we receive each day."

and then there is Latex with a:

"Typical incomprehensible negative BDSM bashing style post" and a solid history of the very same under his belt.

Three distinctly different attitudes.

All three of the OP's got responses based directly on the tone set. Latexbaby set a tone which was accusatory and went so far as to call into question the mental capabilities of those who did not choose him as a mate.  Axe started off with a disclaimer that his words were not intended to offend. Rarely a good sign .. then went on to offend munchers. Again, negative, a bit spiteful and before advice was even offered, it was rejected. Merry, on the other hand was light, amusing and intelligent without a shred of self-pity to be found.

So, three different posts with three different styles garnered three different responses from a whole bunch of different people.

Where, exactly, is the double standard?

By the way, I don't know Latex nor Axe .. but I've known Merry for several years offline. I add that because I totally admit that I may be biased but thought it would be disingenuous not to say something about it. So, take it for what it's worth. I think I was objective but you may think differently and you are entitled to whatever opinions you hold.

Merrymischief, what exactly was He complaining about?  Your accent?  Tone?  Choice of words?  Silence?  Not moaning loudly enough?

<Wonders if there's a Berlitz course for 'submissive speech'.>

Lmao.

I have been told I don't look Domme enough.
Short of plastic surgery, I'm not sure there is much I can do about that.

FierySprite -> RE: The Misleading Dominant (6/7/2008 4:00:51 AM)

I've been told by many people who don't know me well that I act nothing like a dominant even after several meetings or conversations. I guess I'm just not the cookie cutter type of domme?  Then you go to my friends that have known me for a while and most of the time years, and they'll swear up and down I'm way dominant. I guess it's a problem of reading the face value of someone versus actually taking the effort of trying to look deeper.

Freckles and all , right?  but you don't have your straw hat on.,  or the basket of eggs.

Wow, now I'm picturing that. Hmmmmmm

No, I still like them saucy, smart and having the ability to humble and piss off the cock roosters.
