It's been five years how much longer is required for them to be autonomous? In five years you could train an army, repair infrastructure and bring about a system of democracy. Why is it taking so long to do these things?

Well what the Iraqi govt wants might have a little relevance if we didnt own their country LOL Apparently the dumbasses think they are autonomous? I say we just depopultate it entirely and then annex it as a US territory. With the right combination of neutron warheads and chemical weapons we can achive complete depopulation quickly, and have Halliburton in there to start disposing of corpses and getting the oil infrastructure back on line within two weeks. That would send a powerful message to the rest of OPEC when negotiating prices....

Im not trying to "wind you up" I am quite serious. The Iraqi oil reserves are spoils of war... We took them fair and square and if we give them back we are crazy. In addition to dramatically increasing our reserves it would give the Saudis, and the rest of OPEC a moment of pause to think HMMMMMM, If America doesnt like our price they will exterminate us and take it anyway... Lets be grateful for the $12 a bbl they give us while allowing us to live. Think about it, if you are negotiating a price with someone who you know will shoot you in the head if he doesnt like your offer then youre going to come up with a sweetheart deal.

While the reasons cited by the Bush Administration would have been largely that, the lamentable and even ludicrous quality of US intelligence data on Iraq pre-invasion makes the entire exercise a collossal mistake--militarily, politically, and ethically. Moreover, to claim Iraqi oil as the spoils of war mandates we keep a permanent and costly military contingent in the area under fairly hostile circumstances. D.A., I do understand the logic behind that but when Iraqi oil gets back up to full capacity and back on the world market that's going to lower prices a whole bunch. I strongly suspect that if "American" oil companies control it, and I say "American" very loosely, then it probably won't get back to "full capacity." Our govt, the Federal Govt should be encouraging us to have Nationwide strikes against oil companies, stay home from work for a week, don't use any fuel, and also they should be Rationing gasoline. If our govt isn't willing to do those things then you know that they're in cahoots with the oil companies and at that point we need to start shooting a bunch of people ala Thomas Jefferson.

You don't do your country any justice by acting exactly like millions of people think all Americans are. People aren't as fearful of the US as you would like to think, not since the US has got bogged down in Iraq. Military solutions don't work for political problems, they are for dumbasses, Korea, Vietnam and now Iraq? One day those who think having a military is the answer to everything, will eventually wake up, maybe they won't. maybe they will get what they deserve, a bullet.

hmmm, they want us out, we want us out, where's the problem? in the white house! i say drop everything and pull out completely, leave the whole damn area to sort it out for themselves. force this country to find other options for energy, open up all kinds of industries, create jobs, stop wasting money on ppl who don't want us or actually need our help and screw them all. we're feeding their greed by paying them for the oil, rather than telling them to go to hell and finding our own sources. i say make it necessary for us to stop buying their oil. might hurt "short term" but in the long run, how much money can we invest in ourselves by closing the wallet to the middle east? i think it would be well worth it for our country's future. but hey, i'm just a common taxpayer, i'm not into big business and screwing john q public to make a buck. I believe the war started around March of 2003. I wonder how much oil we could have bought for all the money that has been spent on the war so far. The war is a lot more than just about oil. Back in 2003, Hussein was accepting Euros for oil. Too big of a threat to the PTB's dollar-denominated, world-wide accepted monetary system. Also, thanks to our insidious monetary system, the only way to create more money is to create even more debt. Need money to service existing debt? Under the current system, where else can it come from?

I say that we just pull back, base by base and let them have it. They say they are ready for autonomy, then so be it. We make an orderly withdrawal and place those troops with no place else to go on our southern border to deal with drug traffic and to turn back illegals. Guard and reserve soldiers get to go home and our tax dollars will be wasted on something else. THEN, when Iran or Syria or whoever invades Iraq and they ask the world for help we say, "Sorry. We're busy." When the UN asks for our soldiers to go in for them and help, we say, "Sorry. Do it yourself without our troops. We're dealing with our own yard first."

The Parliament is at odds with the government leadership on this. They have been for several years. The Parliament wants us out, the government wants us to stay.

They authenticate it, Captain and XO confirm it as valid using their codes, each makes an announcement over the 1MC "Man Battle Stations Missle, Set Condition 1SQ for Strategic Launch, Set Targeting Package _______, Spool up missles 1 - 12 and 12 - 24..." and within 22 minutes there is a bright flash over up to 192 cities and towns. All without the skipper even needing to set down his coffee... Right now, George Bush holds that power, which he can use for any reason or none at all. Sleep well [:D]
