Every country in the whole world would be well advised to remember that there is not a single country in the entire world, that ONE US submarine captain would be unable to utterly destroy in 22 minutes or less, without even having to set his coffee cup dowm...

Whoa!!!!!!!!

This only makes sense if you live in a world where are neither friends nor allies, merely differing grades of enemy.

Living life at DefCon 2 isn't much of a life.  I like putting the guns down now and again.

Thank the gods that I am not the only one NOT feeling that gung ho.

No kidding.  The Marines have a nickname for folks with that sort of attitude.

Targets.

Me, personally, I'm a big fan of not getting shot.  (been there done that don't need a repeat performance)

Cool, it will give Obama a bargaining chip with the republicans in congress-after he is sworn in this fall.

Yes but keep in mind the officers tended to be more gung ho... Also keep in mind I am far from the only one who thinks this way. Right now, at several places in the ocean there are Boomer Captains waiting on orders and running missle drills and wanting them down to two minutes or less for when those orders come.  There are guys underground in silos in Lousiana and across the Dakotas, Kansas etc running daily drills sometimes not knowing whether its a drill or not until after they turn that key... There are pilots flying simulated strikes on major american cities so they can get it right when the orders come and other pilots trying to find them before they get to those targeted cities... Thousands of good men are preparing for the unthinkable, because its not so unthinkable it is one EAM away....

DA, there is a difference in preparing for doing the unthinkable and looking forward to it.  I am more than prepared to cancel the programming of anyone trying to harm my family.  I am not looking forward to it.  You sometimes seem a bit ... over eager.

Butterbars, maybe.  Grow them up a tad into some silver and they settle down wonderfully.

Preparing for the unthinkable is not the same as advocating it as a tool of statecraft.

DA, there is no need to reach for the biggest hammer in the drawer right off the bat.  First, we should seriously consider engineering a serious shortage in corn and wheat production.

I strongly suspect that if "American" oil companies control it, and I say "American" very loosely, then it probably won't get back to "full capacity."

That's a very astute observation......and no doubt one-hundred percent correct.

My god man......the last thing any US citizen should want is for the trans-global petroleum corporations--based here and in the UK---to control more of the world's supply.
