Is there a Forum for intellectual types anywhere? Intellectual Snobs?  I ask because in the kind of relationship I want, the BDSM bond would lie beneath the surface - smoulder even, but since the bulk of our lives are not spent having sex, I do need to be with people who are curious, worldly and/or informed.....

And you obviously assume that all of us here on the forum revolve our entire existance around the crotches of our pants and how often we can put them to use eh?
I tend to avoid intellectual snobbery. I am more than smart enough to keep up, but when peple believe they are superior to others becasue they spent more time with their nose in a book and know more facts they can randomly quote... Id rather hang around with those who like to spend their time in more fun pursuits.
You'll be slightly disappointed to learn that the majority of us here dont spent our whole time having sex or eve thinking about sex (more than once every 8 minutes or so). One of my boys has NEVER had sex.
But if you are going to look for a forum of people who think like you... good luck. The balance we strive for is as skewed in what you put in your OP as it would be if we were actually completely focused on our sex lives.

Shrugs,I find it's usually the fluffly ones with very little to offer who think people talking about things like sociology-technology, science-are "snobs".

I guess it sucks to be out of your league. We must tear those horrible smart people down-this is supposed to be a democracy dammit! Slow down so we can all keep up!

That's true. Out of consideration for all the "snobs" who are bogged down by the weight of their "serious" conversation topics, we should all ease up on the light-hearted (and lightening fast) fun so they can catch up. (Besides, who'd want to miss the perplexed neo-Spock looks on their oh so logical faces?)

Of course, we would not want to dissapoint the glib attention sluts and thier "clever" one liners-would we? I mean a thread staying on topic-what a horrible concept! Can't have that, nope nope.

Sure you can have threads stay rigidly "on topic"...personally I prefer discussions to be something other than boring, dull, and monotonous.

Yeah, maybe all of the pseudo-intellectual types can go off and puff up and impress everyone else on their list.

'Why yes, I am an intellectual type!  What's that, you ask?  Well if you have to ask you are not smart enough to be an intellectual type'

sigh...

Maybe there's a Mensa for kinksters somewhere?

Actually, i do like snobs. Not the only people i like, but they, like many other 'undersirables', can be very interesting.
The truth of the matter is, while BDSMers are not necessarily brighter or savvier or anything else than anyone else, in the various populations that attract the supersmart, you will find a decent subset of lifestylers. So, go to a community that attracts you mind, and see if you don't happen to meet a nice kinky girl.
Try the Graveyard of the Gods - unless, of course, you are of a religious nature. Then, that is not going to work out.
