The whole money thing has been beaten to death elsewhere, so I won't go into it again. And I have been bitched at because I demand that the person I am with buy my iced teas and club fees while we are out!
Sincere dominants are interested in a person's submission. Do they have the necessary qualities to please? Money is a very secondary consideration, IMO. Yes, I love gifts, but I certainly do not REQUIRE them, and I wouldn't dream of setting a dollar amount on something. Actually, as in a vanilla relationship, I am chary to accept expensive things from someone who is not very well off (ie, some folks are Russell Stover, some are Godiva----I am not going to sneer at the lower priced gift, if it matches the person's income/sophistication level).
One thing I do expect subs to pay for is unusual or single use items. If a male is into chastity, HE is buying the device. Want electro play? Feel free to get me a violet wand.
