As for why they believe it, well, if I'm being charitable, I'll say they're following in the religious tradition of feeling that very intense emotions are a valid epistemology. If I'm not being charitable, I'll say that they're letting their fetishes overcome their reason.

Females don't have this so much because male superiority reeks of patriarchy and oppression and everything else that sucked before the women's liberation movement, and these negative emotions overwhelm any positive emotions categorical degradation may evoke. Not so for males, who only have the positive side.

OP: I've noticed the same thing. I fall into the 'Pockets of Dommes' camp, but the trend is rising.

For one thing, women are getting much, MUCH more aggressive. First hand experience, I've been holla'd at by packs of girls twice this week. (and a group of old church ladies... that was creepy.) But also just paying attention to national trends, I'm not THAT pretty... it's happening more to all men.

If the girls are making the overt moves like this, that means the criteria selection get very, very different. I don't have to outsmart or out-socialize a girl out of her pants; but I do have to be attractive in other ways. And the rest of the dynamic changes too, in some ways.

Still, there are some fundamentals in place that dictate gender roles, and they aren't going away anytime soon. Like, pregnancy.

Have you ever read, 'The Selfish Gene'? It's not the most scientifically rigorous book in the world, but it raises some very good points.

Also worth reading for the perspective on the attraction game are a few of these guys/websites: Mystery, RSD, BadBoy, and Bristol lair. (RSD has gotten to the point where their sites look scammy as hell these days, but the forums and newsletter are worth your time.) There are many others in the field, but most of them are craptacular.

They can really give you a good perspective on how attraction operates, and how it influences our lives on many, many levels. Don't take my word for them, though; they can and will talk a whole lot about themselves.... ^_^

Either version of gender superiority is as full of bull as the other. Both genders run the full range (personality wise) from superstars to gutter trash.

If we live in a male dominated society, why are so many men sleeping on the couch on any given night?
If men are dominant, why are they still begging for sex? Whether they are paying for it, buying dinner/drinks, or an engagement ring, women are still bartering with men for sex, and men are paying the price.
Does that sound dominant to anyone?

In truth I think many male subs say this throw away line only when they've set themselves low standards in the first place, not the kind of sub I'd be interested in but then I don't need someone to balance my books for me etc. Not very empowering if you ask me and some feminists would be turning in their graves most likely.
I know nothing but that seat on the train is mine damn it. As Peter Kay says “It’s better that a pregnant woman stands up than a fat women gets to sit down.” That has nothing to do with anything I just thought I’d throw it out there and alienate myself further.

Female dominated societies are nothing new to human civilization. In fact, some of the greatest empires in history had a female dominated structure.

Native American tribes were matriarchal in nature. Since it was the woman's task to maintain the camp, they had all the control in the family structure. If a woman decided she no longer wanted a brave, all she had to do was put his personal belongings outside the lodge and they were divorced.

In the Japanese empire, the husband had control of very little in the home, the wife controlled the finances, the way the children were raised, and granted, while a samuri lord had the right to kill his wife if she displeased him (dishonor due to her adultery, her family, etc) he needed to have ample proof of the fact before doing so, otherwise HER family had the right and obligation to kill him.

Egypt had women as rulers, as did some of the greek city states, middle eastern city states.

Those are two examples, and there are others. During the middle ages, if a man had no heir, then the woman inheritated, which essentially gave her complete control of the lands her dead husband controlled, as well as his men at arms, etc. There were many powerful women in the middle ages, including the Borgia women, which were powerful and deadly.

During the middle ages, some of these women actually became powerful enough to be threats to neighboring lords, and had to be eliminated.

Thus, it is not so much as to which is the superior sex, but who has the power to maintain that superiority.

I refuse to relinquish control of my life to anyone, let alone a woman, and by staying by that decision, I usually make a lot of enemies. But then I have known strong willed women who would run a pitch fork up a man's ass that tried to dominate her. It is all in the personality of the person. One is either superior or inferior, seldom nuetral.

Which of course is why there is such a huge population of male dominants "searching" on this site..... And female sub/slaves complaining about their vast quantity of emails from male dominants. And lets not forget the male dominants chiming in about their lack of mail.

Actually I'm here for the view, plenty of half naked women in them there profiles, not that I'd want to draw any such conclusions as to why they are half naked such as assuming them to be just as desperate for the unrealistic romantic fantasy fed to them by the mass media.
