farglebargle -> Doctor Who - Anyone else happy (***spoiler beware***)? (7/6/2008 4:24:34 AM)

I dunno. Catherine Tate might be good in her own venue, but she just never worked for me.

Only reason I didn't like her was she ddn't listen to the dr when he said not to do something or you could mess up the history timeline, in the episode about the volcano.

Thank you for the spoilery title. Not everyone has had the chance to see the finale yet. Like me!

SPOILER ALERT!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I TOTALLY AGREE!!!

There were many things that didn't fit. She wasn't like any of his other companions at all. In fact in many cases she was the Anti-Companion. I am waiting for the red head to become his companion and then for them to marry or whatever it is that would be necessary for him to tell her his name. I am just sad that in order for it to work she has to die and then be saved into the System I wonder if he'll be able to get her out.

I got to admit I was upset when Christopher was exchanged by David and at first I didn't like David at all, but he has warmed up on me and I like him now. I am wondering who the next doctor is going to be because the redhead made it very clear that The Doctor didn't look like David when he meets her.

Looking forward to a WONDERFUL next Season.

[:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(]

Y'all are a bunch of spoilers for me!!!!! I am so out of the loop on the Doctor that it's not even funny. I'll have to see if any channel carries the show here and if we can get it.

I loved Christopher as the Doctor but David has a boyish, puppyish charm of his own that just got me. I had the opposite, Steel, I needed to warm up to Christopher but loved David right off. I still cry that at the end of season 2 Rose got left in the other universe just as she and the Doctor realized they loved each other. Yea, I know, had to happen, what with him being the Doctor and all. But I'm a romantic and cried my eyes out.

Ok, now to see if I can play catch-up, dammit..... [&:]

What the f**k are you people talking about

LadyRainfire -> RE: Doctor Who - Anyone else happy Donna Noble's gone? (7/7/2008 11:05:49 AM)

The longest running sci-fi TV series in history. Google "Doctor Who" if you're so out of it, mike....

Doctor Who.

Go to YouTube and start watching clips it is a British Franchise that has been around since TV started and has had a very strong following among those who follow the storyline.

Look it up.

Pssssst, Steel, I still have my Tom Baker autograph from a con in California from about 1984. He was incredible in person, funnier than anything. He actually blushed and got flustered when asked how it felt to be a "sex star" as the Doctor. [:D]

SteelofUtah -> RE: Doctor Who - Anyone else happy Donna Noble's gone? (7/7/2008 11:15:51 AM)

For All Dr. Who Fans The Band is called Carbon Leaf and the Video reminds us of MANY of or Favorite Doctor Who Doctors. I got a little wispy the first time I saw the Doctor say Good Bye to Susuan.

Doctor Who - Carbon Leaf

How many Doctors do you know. I only knew 4, 5 if you count David but I consider him part of the new series even though he is a New Doctor.

Enjoy the Memories.

LRF, I loved Echelson as the Doctor immediately. He was exactly what the show needed for a revival. And he knew he'd never pull off the stuff David can. Which is why he was gone at the end of season one. :)

You must play catch up! The library/forest pair of eps was the BEST EVAR! I stand by that statement. Amusingly one running gag in that set is the subject of spoilers. (and HANDCUFFS!!!!) [:D]

On companions: Rose was frickin' sweet. LOVED Martha, sad she ran off. Happy to see her show up again lots. Donna ... is funny scary impossible mind scarring (some of those outfits at least) and brilliant! Super temp! Wahaha. And Jack, well Jack's perfect. What more can I say?

And finale in an hour or so. *twitch*

Are you serious? you do know its not real, don't you?.

SteelofUtah -> RE: Doctor Who - Anyone else happy Donna Noble's gone? (7/7/2008 11:25:14 AM)

HW that really just depends on if you are a fan because what I like most about the show is that they always maintain that it is POSSIBLE and in many pays they continue to offer possible reasons that it is possible. So where as the who itself is not real that is not to say there there isn't a Time Lord out there last of his kind somewhat insane who thinks the Human Race is something interesting for for no other reason than our ability to think for ourselves.

I love the Doctor Who Concept.

and I believe.

Sorry for sounding so sarcastic. My neice and nephew are big fans of the show. Who's the new D.W? I believe David Tennant has left the show.

Totally agreed the Christopher was a Serious Doctor with a Fierce nature that made everything seem so important and made Rose WANT to follow him to the end of the universe. But He was a very SERIOUS Doctor and you are right the way the story line when with David, Christopher would have never been able to pull it off I mean even the one episode where it is all Reality Television and Christopher ends up on Big Brother was a Stretch however when he blew up the Station from the Daleks Yeah I bought ever bit of that episiode and I don't believe that David could have done the same.

The Library was My Favorit to Date and tha Vash Nerada scared the living hell out of me and his line in that episode where he says. "All over the universe nearly every race of every species has an irrational fear of the dark what they don't know is that it isn't irrational" I watched the episode twice in a row god I love this show. I also love the idea that The Doctor, no matter what species he meets is afraid of him, I wish they would do a back story on what he did to make the entire universe afraid of or at least respect him. I would love to see that.

Rose was my Favorite untill the end when everything she did was all about her Father and trying to get him back as if she forgot the Church the first time when she saves his life and almost killed the doctor because of it. Man that pissed me off. Then she does it again when they end up in the Parallel universe when Micky stays behind essentially pulling him out of the story line forever which bugged me cause I liked Micky. I am really looking forward to when he Meets the Red Head again and we get to see thier limited story line cause I would LOVE to know if they tell us what the Doctors Name is ,,,,, though I know that won't.

David Tennant was the 10th Doctor and according to WikiAnswers The 11th is set to be James Nesbitt who played in Jekyll  in the Dual Role.

Look into it I don't know much about him so I don't knwo if I will like it or not. However because it is the Doctor I am sure that I will try and love it just for the sake of the Doctor.

RCdc -> RE: Doctor Who - Anyone else happy Donna Noble's gone? (7/7/2008 2:26:55 PM)

James Nesbit is rumored to be the 11th but he isn't the top rumour, that would be Robert Carlyle.  Personally, I would believe Carlyle would bring a much better Dr to life than Nesbit, who still has J&H on his back and there would be too much of a conflict with that.  David Morrisey and James McAvoy are also rumoured, but unlikely.
David Tennent is contracted until 2010.  No new series of Dr is sceduled until 2010, but there will be 4 specials.

Well with Micky now back, there is the rumour he is joining Torchwood, because they just lost two key charachters.

What with that and the rumoured three doctor episode....

Ohhhhhhh, to drool for! Robert Carlyle? Honestly? That would be heavenly, though James McAvoy would be good as well. I would prefer Robert though my monster #2 (18 yo female) would probably prefer James. *grins*
