Your opinions are requested –

Do you think Dom/me space exists?

If I understand well, sub-space is anything from feeling ethereal to feeling completely drained.

--

I get this feeling when I’m at the “top of my game” (this is an expression, I don’t view BDSM as a game). I feel like I’m so incredibly focussed that the Carnival de Rio could happen 10 feet from me and I wouldn’t notice.

I also feel that I understand every twitch, look, gulp, cringe and feel it. Some kind of empath-like feeling.

I've always called this Dom/me space but it dawned on me that I have not noticed someone discussing this or refering to it. proudsub has probably got a link already for a prior thread discussing this ;)

--

Does any one else experience this, or something similar to this, or something else entirely?

Or for those who don’t dominate, do you know of someone who does?

And do you or they consider this Dom/me space?

I have feelings very similar to what you feel, Lady Angelika, because when I am scening my partner I experience the rest of reality somewhat melt away. I am aware of everybody else in the room (in a public place) but my focus is on my partner and unless they make a motion which would affect her, they are not relevant to my head space.

Similarly, I have feelings of proprioception (sense that time is slowing down) and very acute tunnel vision (common during the adrenal dump) where I am hyperaware of her and her reactions to what I am doing.

It is a peak experience which I have likened in previous posts to sparring 4 on 1 with me in the middle. Nothing outside of my own actions has any relevance or meaning.

I suppose in a nutshell I feel both completely disconnected from and hyper-connected to the scene. Which is a feeling I have not found anywhere else.

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.

I most definately believe Dom space exists, I have experienced both sub space and Dom space. The very first time I went into it, I had a gal on a cross, looking at her back, I could almost see lines across her body, top line too much, bottom line not enough. I spent the scene working between the two lines. That hasn't happened again, but what does happen is everything but the music and the sounds of other play disappears, observers a few feet away can be talking and I don't hear them. I am hyper tuned to the sub's reactions, body coloration, movement, sounds, twitches, fingers moving. It is not the meditative spiritual type of space I acheive when I bottom, I don't float or fly, I am hyperpresent. However I have had Dom/mes lose touch with me as a person in their Dom space and not even hear my spotter relaying my repeated "red". These were the times I was injured and made me less willing to bottom.

To be "with" your sub in their experience, attuned to them as a unique individual is good Dom space, to go off into lala land where the Dom/me can only think of what they want to do, to treat every sub as a painslut is bad Dom space. It is dangerous space.

If the scene has gone well, I am drenched in sweat and euphoric afterwards, I especially love the Christmas morning smile of the sub coming off the equipment after getting to where they want to go.

I love playing with someone for I get so focus that my thoughts are more standardize. It seems my senses are more in control and I am able to read people better. I think all Dominate experience this.

Does Top space exist? Absolutely. I believe that, like subspace, there are many different feelings that someone may experience while in Top space. I find myself getting hyper focused...although, if something out of the ordinary enters my "space" (ie. DM walks into my line of sight, dramatic change in music ..like going from some nice, rhythmic native american drums...to Skinny Puppy without a lead up...someone touches me, etc.) I will get pulled out of that space pretty quickly. To be sure, someone entering my space while I am playing and interrupting that focus...is lucky to walk away unscathed.

There are times I can actually feel the power exchange. I feel completely connected to both the person I am playing with and the universe. It's a great feeling...

Milady Angelika-

I do find myself entering what I'll often call 'domspace'- but I have been there before, and called it by other names.

In studying the martial arts, we would strive for Shansein<sp?> a state of heightened perception, expanded awareness and internal stillness and balance (usually coupled with a psychopathic readiness to inflict grevious harm on another).

In the Marine Corps, we would speak of being "rigged out and clicked on", which for me was very like Shensien ( I really can't remember the correct english spelling- it's said 'sahn-ZHEen' or something like that). This was also usually associated with the willingness to do extreme violence. Hell, that was our job.

What ever the place or purpose, I too feel that empathic connection, that 360 degree vision thing, that incredible focus, that sense of connection- not just to Her, but to everything...

Stay warm,
Lawrence

Do you think Dom/me space exists?

It most certainly exists for me. It started happening when I first discovered my connection to this life.

It is entirely mental for me and has nothing to do with physical activity. It begins as a thought that crosses my mind. This thought creates what I call my "dom tingle". It is this feeling in my stomach that is very similar to the "drop" you feel when driving fast on a road that has little hills.

When I express this thought, or do the activity that the thouht suggests, the tingle spreads to my fingers and (oddly enough) my lips. I enter an altered state and it is like there is a layer of cushion between my senses and my brain. I can feel my pores open and I begin to perspire.

In this hightened state, I become extremely creative, imaginative, and nasty. Thoughts begin to bubble up from my sub-conscious like demons released from their chains. These though create further, larger "dom tingles" and the process begins to feed on itself.

Oh yes, Virginia, there is a domspace...*smile*

Yours,
Taggard

I am similarly focused on my slaves when I am training them, or simply enjoying them. I have always said that an owner that doesn't take the time to know their property deeply deprives himself of much of what is his.

Take care of yourself

I get similar feelings when playing my slave or my guitar. It's a feeling that you are clicking on all cylinders. It happens alot more often with my slave. Those darn guitars can be so difficult sometimes. Lol.

I too get a similar feeling when I am doing creative writing and I get into the "zone", but not neerly as intense.

In my case, Hers. (*wink)

And I agree with this. Though my subs are my subs and not my *property*, I feel I need to know them inside out.

I believe that is Japanese, and the hiragana spelling would be

The Japanese dont have an i that doesnt follow a consonent in their language. In fact, the only letter they have all by itself is 'n.
