Well, Lucy, the hair on the "inside" as the Chinese woman kept calling it ... that hurt like a mother*#(*&$  coming out.  lol  The good thing is it was quick - very quick.  I was laughing and saying when I felt the wax going in a sensitive area ... "ooh, that one's gonna hurt."  And it did, and then it was over.  I've always had difficulty shaving there.  She assured me that the hair would come in softer and more sparse next time, and I'm hoping that's true and I'm on a hairless trend.  It really is very, very nice not to have stubble!

Avoid going around the time of your period and don't take aspirin.  It hurts a bit but that immediately dissipates.  I was always pretty red and puffy for a few days afterward.

XaviersXian -> RE: Anyone here ever get a brazilian? (7/18/2008 3:54:51 PM)

greetings to all,

I've had a few of them done.  I think the worst bit is the top of the outer labia (near the clitoris).  It is the only bit that really *hurts*.  The rest of the procedure is actually, really comfortable after a few goes (the waxing numbs the area, so you don't feel anything).  I find that the back is a *lot* less painful than the front.  The ladies that do mine use a hot wax that cools when applied to the skin, and then gets peeled off.  The whole thing takes about half an hour.

When you walk in there, they'll hand you a disposable g-string (to stop your own underwear getting wrecked by the wax...you cannot get the stuff out!!!!!).  They get you to strip down until you're wearing the g-string and the top half of your clothes. The ladies that do mine do half a wax at a time (to "preserve modesty"...definitely something I am *not* worried about...a body is a body *laughs*).  They start at the top and work their way down, finishing with the back.  The best tip I have for anyone considering a brazillian is make sure your hair is short before you go (about 1-2cm long, no longer...the longer the hair, the more the wax hurts to have done).  I found this out one day when I went for one, and discovered I'd missed a patch of hair with my usual shave (ouch!)

I find that I get irritated for a couple of days (it feels like I've been burned).  I apply generous amounts of sorbolene cream and cold cloths to try and get the swelling down.  In a couple of days, things are fine (and well worth the effort).  Master loves the results (it's a real pity that I can't keep myself that smooth permanently).

well wishes,

chicagoswitch -> RE: Anyone here ever get a brazilian? (7/18/2008 8:59:29 PM)

I have issues with swelling for a couple days after....I use over the counter cortizone cream, it helps quite a bit.  Another thing I learned the hard way....no sex for 24 hours, ouch!!!!!!!

Someone in another thread here recomended the Seiko Cleancut razor, I bought one last week ($100).  Brazilians where I live are $75 so I will save money long term.  I'll let you know how it works.

seababy -> RE: Anyone here ever get a brazilian? (7/20/2008 5:57:58 AM)

I've had quite a few brazilians and been for one laser session. (The laser was just a bikini style hair removal)

I've never had to get on my hands and knees I just laid on my back and she had me pull my g-string to the side while she got all the areas. The only moving of my legs was bending my knee so one leg was cocked up and a little to the side.

As long as you stick with just waxing the regrowth will be soft. Its your first that hurts the most, after that its easier.

After seeing the results with lazer Im switching to that.
The regrowth has been dramaticly finer.
There are some new lasers these days that can be calibrated to different darker skin tones which means yes they can keep adjusting so all the hair can be lasered off. so Im trying the full brazilian next time.
Does it hurt? Hell yeah! But the results are so much better.
Even a few sessions if that is all you can afford will mean that you will have much sparser regrowth that is very soft which will make waxing/shaving easier.
If you do go to try laser it only works on actively growing hair so shave for a while as waxing slows that down.

Anyone else done laser? Especially the full brazilain?

abcbsex -> RE: Anyone here ever get a brazilian? (7/20/2008 7:58:39 AM)

I just got the full brazilian done this friday and after telling Alpha that I actually got turned on by the pain, he's decided he's going to learn how to do it and we'll buy the supplies at Sally's, lol. It's hurting like a bitch now that it's all red and bumpy. I even went on my period (it surprised me), but it wasn't that bad at all. Thanks everyone for the advice!

kimba1 -> RE: Anyone here ever get a brazilian? (7/20/2008 4:15:48 PM)

Hi! Mmm, i love being waxed now (that is once i finally found a good place)! I take an ibuprofen beforehand to help prevent bumps, and no g-string or anything for me -- i just want it all off fast! I find that TendSkin helps to prevent ingrown hairs. Waxing has really made my hair grow back sparsely now as well, there is so little of it! At this rate in 5 years maybe i will be permanently smooth --yay!

Enjoy it!

Lucylastic -> RE: Anyone here ever get a brazilian? (7/20/2008 4:58:06 PM)

I have to say thankyou too for all the advice and tips:) im not worried about the pain aspect, but rather the irritation as I have  sensitive skin and itching during regrowth (specially with a chem burn from using nair) is one sure way of putting me in a lousy mood, and just about drive me to distraction.
Thanks again
Lucy

LadyRainfire -> RE: Anyone here ever get a brazilian? (7/20/2008 5:17:22 PM)

Lucy, since you're up here with me, you can look into sugaring, it's supposedly not as bad as waxing since the removal goes with the hair rather than against it like with the waxing. I've only tried it once and it's ok. As far as I've been able to find out, it's not available in the States. Other than that, it's exactly like a brazilian, using a sugar mixture instead of wax. I also have sensitive skin and have had minimal problems. Just the usual redness and swelling though it wasn't as bad after the sugaring as it has been after a wax.

ABCB, I'm glad it went well, it's not something some people can do but I'm like you, if I'm not careful, I find myself getting aroused from the pain. I got my first full (bare) brazilian in error and fell in love with it. (Not in error!) [:D] Good luck doing them yourselves and be careful. This could make for some interesting times for you!

I'm just trying to figure out what to expect. Advice greatly appreciated!

edited 'cause I saw you got it done:

I had the same experience.  Went in, found it wasn't that bad and was surprised to find myself turned on during it.

mzbehavin -> RE: Anyone here ever get a brazilian? (7/21/2008 9:29:58 AM)

Ciripril wax is the best. The blue kind that cools and is peeled off. The honey wax leaves a sticky residue that is terrible on the skin after.
Apply in direction of hair growth, pull off in opposite direction.
Depending on the operator, it can be a fairly smooth process, or a complete nightmare.
I'm totally going for the laser hair removal. One years waxing expense = 5 session w/ the laser and almost no re-growth.

LadyRainfire -> RE: Anyone here ever get a brazilian? (7/21/2008 10:04:49 AM)

I don't know what the cost of a brazilian laser treatment is in the States but to have it done at a med spa (run by doctors here in Canada) is approximately $250 locally in the Niagara region. I thought it would be a lot more expensive but it's not badly priced.

I am however sticking with my wax/sugaring. [:D]  The above is just FYI if anyone is interested.

Actually, why can't your Dominant person do it for you?   I am fairly adept with my hands, good at following directions for a process, and VERY detail-oriented.  So why couldn't I wax My girl?   Anyone have experience with the "home wax/sugaring" kits?  Any reason NOT to embark on learning this skill?

Yes, in my experince they sucked. But that's just my opinion. And it was very painful for me, and that was just my legs, not sensitive pussy bits.

This is the reaction I had, as the stylist was going about her business all I could think of was "wow, I could do this!" but then I realized that that wouldn't work so well, since it would take a contortionist to get the angles needed. So I talked to my husband about it and he was all for ripping out my pubes on the cheap.

msprudence -> RE: Anyone here ever get a brazilian? (7/21/2008 6:54:08 PM)

My first Brazilian was great.  I had this amazing woman who told me to take two ibuprofen before I came.  Then I was told to get on a table, and she put several icepacks on my mound and between my legs.  After about 15 minutes, she brought out strips and spread the wax on the strip directly from a small crock pot, and then she yanked. The sensation of the hot wax near cold skin was unnerving, but it didn't really hurt to get the brazillian.

The next time somone else applied the wax directly to the hair, and then put the strips down and pulled.  It was horridly painful.

I'm still trying to find someone else who does it the way I prefer.
