The Sexual Revolution 2.0...

I've been flipping through this book by Regina Lynn, "Sexual Revolution 2.0" rather verbosely subtitled "Getting Connected, Upgrading Your Sex Life, and Finding True Love -- or at Least a Dinner Date -- in the Internet Age".

Did ANYONE like Ann Rice's "Beauty" series?

I did. To me, they were better-written than her Vampire Chronicles, although that may be because I got tired of Lestat very quickly.

They were, at the time I read them, a revelation--at the time there really wasn't a whole lot of mainstream SM erotica available.

Going back, I'm not that happy with them. But I am grateful that they were there for me to discover, and I'm sure newbies are still discovering SM with them.

They certainly popularized the idea of pony play.

i'm not sure if my taste is worthy of giving as recommendation, but i'll try: Further Adventures of Alice It's a series of short stories with a lot of humor towards the start mostly dealing with a woman that gets involved with some serious spanking. It's not particullarly realistic, but i enjoyed it.

I did read the Beauty series. I didn't particularly enjoy it. I felt Ann Rice had the basis for a great storyline and messed it up. There were so much more she could have done that she didn't and so much she did that didn't make sense.

Training with Miss Abernathy gets my vote.

Midori probably as well (not read her book(s) but I did attend a conference - presents her ideas clearly)

I've never read the Loving Dominant (not really my style ya know ;-) so I can't put a vote up for it. Sorry John!

I thought the beauty series was horribly written, so poorly in fact I almost didn't read them, fortuantly it gets a little better written, Also most her stuff she wrote about was not only dangerous it was far fetched whanko fantasy material.

I guess that's nice if you read fiction for whanko material, but I would of liked to see a little bit of credibility in the stuff she wrote about.

What Anne Rice wrote was FICTION, it was exquisitely written erotica. It was not meant to be a how to guide to bdsm. Very little that she wrote was actually dangerous, strenuous perhaps but not life threatening.

edited to add; my Mistress answered you on the thread entitled books.

True they are fiction, but they were very poorly writting in my mind. I also like I said, like a little bit of credibility in my fantasy though,  The thing is you have to suspend your disbelieve i think the saying was, and that's true but I personally am never going to fantasize about anything  that she wrote in the books. And in reading fiction I would like to find something I'd like to fantasize over.

Now if you asked would I fantasize about being painted  up to look like an animal and be a lovely piece of art hell yes lol.

I think there's at least a (miniscule) possibility that reading, in general, is highly overrated.

Than again maybe not.

I found out my local library has some of the bdsm books I want, like 100 strokes before bed. They also have some sexual health books, one of them I checked out was intimacy for two  and some other how to enjoy sex type books.

I find it very unusual that a public library would carry obvious erotica.   I actually didn't care for much of 100 Strokes - not terribly engaging fiction in my opinion.

I was supprised too. Pleased also.  You never know what you'll find. I am all for libraries having wide varieties of topics, just as long as it's not in reach of kids.
