If I were not owned, No (well, the answer is still no while being owned but he would give that edict before I could).  I am very particular about where I sleep.  I have sleep issues and I have cleanliness issues and I like to be up all night writing.  I'd probably be more concerned their bathroom was disgusting than anything else.

I like hotels.  And Priceline can usually get me an awesome price at a CLEAN place where I can sleep on my own terms.

What I found most unusual was the guy was in his late 50's (looked more like 60's to me).  The rest of the profile said how much he wanted to find a slave to obey all his commands.  The thing that got me was that his idea of being safe meant that he would touch, beat, torment, fuck, a passing stranger in exchange for a place to sleep.  It reminded me of that old bumper sticker.  Gas, Grass or Ass, one way or another you pay for the ride.

Not that I'm against it in principle (even the "herb" part doesn't bug me, being a hippy type) but I agree with Kyst it comes off a little seedy and creepy as it is written.

Would I do this? If My Lord was with me, and we had a plan B in place (this guy and/or his house could be repulsive, after all) then, hey, maybe. Otherwise, I have a perfectly good converted van, or Motel 6 leaves the light on.

No.  In fact, one of the reasons I'm 'antsy' about people knowing who I am and where I live is that I've had bad exeriances in the passed.  One 'net friend' from New England was invited to my house for a party.  I didn't really think he would come, but he did.  A few months after that, he took a vaccation in Florida and apparently ran out of funds on the way back North.  He decided to 'drop in on me' with a drunk old bar fly expecting a free night's bed & board with some wife swapping just for fun.  I tossed him and his skanky ho back into the night.

Distinctly ON TOPIC - I have always used this quote when assorted people - friends on the down low, family members, ect - ask if they can move in for a while.
Pay some rent, carry in groceried, clean my house. Take you pick. I am not the local free hostel, and even they ain't free.

No. I wouldn't. And no I'd for any forseeable reason likely never offer some random person off the streets who was just on their way through my home and my space to stay.

It's the dom's right to put demands on his space since you're his guest for free, But it's also my right to pass up the offer lol.

I was on the other side when I saw something I found unique.  I won't post his text but will paraphrase it for a question.

[ I am offering a safe place for sub/slaves who are on the road and wish to stop a while. I would expect the female to cater to my whims. The sub would also be subjected to bondage discipline training; Honesty, disease/drug free are musts but herb is ok and encouraged ]

There are more descriptive things in his ad, but these are the ones I found interesting.

If you are traveling would you consider such an offer?  Do you see the conditions as something that is acceptable?  Is this something you have done or offered?  Is this more common than I would like to think?

HA!  I didn't notice that.  I guess what I'm saying is I don't like green mildewed toilets and feeling like I can't stand in the shower barefoot.  I have stayed at homes before where this was an issue.  For this reason, the Marriott is more appealing to me, plus I wrack up points for free nights.  :)

You know, I'm surprised he forgot to add "55 gallon drums provided.  No limits!"

I did however once accept a place to stay in berkly from a guy who had heard on the ageplay group I was on that I wanted to go and couldn't cause I don't drive an bus was out.

He picked me up after work drove me to his home in berkly let me crash in his room mates room, and then in the morning drove me into SF to the event, said call him when I was done an he'd take me to the train station. Course he never answered the call when it was time to leave, and I was stuck for a bit, but then that was the worst that happend.

OMG, Yes. When I lived with my last Master, we had a very, very dear friend, who would come to visit us occasionally. On more than one occasion, she brought one or more of her ferretts to our house for her visit. Gosh, but they are adorable things. Cuter than Cute. You just can not believe!
My Master was an 'anti-small animal unless they are under some kind of tasty sauce on my plate' kind of guy. So I teased him all the time, saying, I wanted a ferret, like our friend had. (forgiving me taking a small moment of schadenfreude here - His new slave has a pet rabbit. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Okay, back on topic now - )
Anyway, we went to visit her to attend a BDSM event, and - well, she let us in the front door, hugged us, and walked away from us to put away our coats. We had been in her house maybe 8 seconds, when i leaned over and whispered in my Master's ear, 'I changed my mind. I don't want a ferrett.'

I see my home as part of me. I would only offer to share that with someone I know and trust. The only way I could see myself offering to allow someone into this "sanctuary" of mine would be to get to know them thru a lot of conversation and interaction online as well as on the phone. The same thing applies in the other direction. I will only stay at someone elses home if I know them extremely well. Casual play in my home is fine and I do not have issues with it, BUT, casual play is alot different then having someone stay over for more then an evening or two.

No.  In theory, sure, but not to me.  No.  I don't know.

That's pretty much how I feel.  I have no objection to people exchanging lodging for services, but the offer as stated in the OP just feels icky somehow.

I seem to have fairly high standards in terms of both lodging and partners, so I wouldn't consider it likely that either his home or his person would appeal to me.  And, since I typically prefer to have plans in place before I travel, waiting until the day I needed a place to stay to discover for certain would not work well for me.
