Yup, I sit at home eating bon bons while my girl works.  It's a cool job if you can get it.

More seriously, I was a mid level manager in a large corporation.  What that means is (just like in the vast majority of jobs), sometimes I was dom at work and sometimes sub depending on the situation.  I am always extroverted.  Depending on the role I find myself in though, I am sometimes dom and sometimes sub although if the situation is ambiguous (no clear leader), then I will automatically step up.  Lead, follow, get out of the way, or I'll squish you like a bug" was my favorite phrase.  I'm happy with any one of those choices.  If someone else is leading reasonably well, then I'm more than happy to pull up an oar and help row the boat.

FR

Sir is a plant operations manager for a grain milling company. Runs the branch in O.our town, but answers to the main foreman and the owner. He's not neccessarily the 'alpha male' in everything, He is more likely to assess whether He benefits from taking over, if it improves the situation or if the outcome will not change. If there is no obvious leadership and the project will founder, He will step up...it's natural for Him to fill the role. He just won't 'fight' for it if it is not worth the effort.

Outside the workplace, He is very unassuming and laid back, much less likely to Dom the world.

I am an independent contractor in my line of work because I got tired of following people that 1) were less intelligent than I, 2) Had no clue about leadership 3) was more concerned about politics and appearance.

Archaeologist for 25 years, but before that I've been a crane operator, porn mogul, bike mechanic, and an ice cream man.

FR~ I have noticed that the Doms I have gotten to know are tend to be lawyers. But that says less about Doms in general and more about the people I tend to "click" with, on any level. My friends IRL tend to be lawyers or have another degree.

Depends on the dominant. Some are CEOs, some work in call centers.

butcher...baker...candle stick maker! Seriously, they can have any job. Master has a job which puts him in a postion to both be the one in charge and at times being the one taking orders, depends on the day and the situation. He has a very good friend who is a Dom and Manager of a large nightclub, but perversly his sub is the GM of a  much larger major nationwide type place.

Doms are who they are, though most dont carry whips as keychains, walk around in leather pants (all the time at least) Their personality is what makes them dominating,  and though that might not be apparent to everyone in day to day life it isnt something they affect or shed as a given situation or job may dictate.

Tech Support Agent !!! *shreiks*

I am but a humble filmmaker, making plans to be rich, wealthy and spread the love... on my off days I have to do advertisements and news clips... and odd jobs when those don't pan out.

I'm getting a teaching job soon though, teaching little kids how to make films. Yay kids!

I know a stay at home mom Alpha, she's dope.

Sincerely,

I'm an engineer.

To me, it's not about WHAT job we do, it's about HOW we do it.  Caring about the end result, working with people - trying to figure out how to push their buttons to get them onboard.

One of the many things I disliked about Mickey Rourke's role as a Dom in 7-1/2 weeks was his job.  Huge, spotless desk in a huge empty office and no real work to do.

My Sir's personality is just who he is when we are interacting as a D/s couple or whether he is doing his job. He's not really an alpha, he's not really aggressive, but he is self-assured and confident in his abilities. It has less to do with his career choice and more to do with his "self." He did choose a career that would give him a good deal of authority, but I think that goes back to his personality rather than his Dominance.

I am a software engineer, though I have been doing it for so long that now I do more management than coding.  I also teach ballroom dance.  I am very alpha in both professions...

I suppose numbers jock or quantitative analyst fits best from working with stats, databases, math models and stuff like that. Sometimes I feel like a funnel who takes all the numbers and then reduces them to the few that drive a business.

The ones i know are pretty dominant in their professional lives as well.  Quite a few owned their own business....guess they dont like anyone else being their boss!
