Okies!! I am back to knitting---w00000t!! And, I am here to recommend the book "Dominknitrix" by Jennifer Stafford. I got the book for a few patterns in it that amused me, but actually it is a really good book with lots of chances to practice techniques that you might not always use. PHOTOS describing how to do stuff---like grafting garter stitch, my next thing. My current project is the "Avast" sweater from Knitty.com, Fall 2006. Yes, making it for someone utterly undeserving, but there you go. Lots of plain stockinette, which I can knit without actually LOOKING at. Also lots of picking up stitches along the edge, which I HATE. One of the reviews on Ravelry described it as "lots of tedious detail", or something like that, and it is, but these seamless constructions are interesting to me, and I would rather practice new ideas on someone else's vetted designs.
