Sometimes when people like Lucvar do nice stuff in real life it’s just nice to embarrass… um… I mean thank them publicly. As declared in my signature I’ve come off of my sabbatical and went back to work on August 1st. It is truly a huge project and if it is successful the scope of profit is … well … embarrassing. But before it tell you about Lucivar I need to tell you about Jason and a particular website that has been in the hands of more pirates than I care to think about.

The crux of my business project centers around a web site that was lost pirates once because of a webmaster’s mistake. While lamenting about this loss over several beers with my friend Jason, I didn’t know he made a mental note of the site name. Between the tears and the beers I explained how my British client was grossing over 5 million a year in sales using a certain marketing technique that required my use of the aforementioned web site. I went to details about how my Chinese client was doing over 6 million a year in sales using the same techniques. Being in the wholesale industry means you make about a dime on the dollar if it’s a good day. So supplying these corporations that are making millions meant we were only making a few hundred thousand. If I could get my retail up to par, it would mean a lot. Several more beers and we’re off onto another topic and chasing some of the local flora and fauna.

Jason is good friend and we do more than just get drunk and get in trouble. He even helped haul a cage or two with his cable installation vans in his day. We are comrades helping each other and would give each other a leg up whenever needed. I had previously helped him by giving him a commercial address to get his satellite dish company started when he applied for his franchise license. And Jason, well he snatched up that web site I needed so badly from the jaws of pirates late last year.

So now that my sabbatical is over and my days lounging by the pool overlooking the lake while being served by my ex slave are over, I’m actually going back to work and need to get that web site back and get it up and running. It was just yesterday that I had my registrar send an e-mail requesting the domain transfer to my name from my beer drinking satellite dish friend Jason. In fact, calling the satellite dish company is on my list of things to do for tomorrow… However I would’ve failed. Jason’s business has grown and my contact information for him is no longer valid. Jason closed or sold the old company and now only does commercial contracts. He also moved to a big house in the country! It might have taken quite a bit for me to track him down.

Lucivar called me about fifteen minutes ago. He was kind of joking around with me and asked me if I had seen Jason. He told me of the business and personal changes in Jason’s life… then he lets on that he saw him today at a mutual friend’s place and gives me all the current contact info so I can my old web site back. Don’t let anyone know that Lucivar is a nice guy or that us Florida boys stick together! He just saved me a days work or more tracking my old friend down.
