I just now got that warning from AVG, a bin.file is missing. Sod it, I have half an hour left on this thing before it goes off, I will deal with it tommorrow if it is still a problem.

I went to the AVG update page rather than go through the tool supplied ( when you check for updates, click the link at the bottom of that update summary that comes up ), and could see two update files dated 16 August, both with the same title, but one which is a bad link. I downloaded the good file and then went to ' tools ' and clicked ' updated from directory.' This then installs the updates. I found that some time later the update manager still tried to download the bad update. I deleted cookies and this solved that problem and I'm showing a green tick now.

AVG just had a hiccup today, just go to your update manager, and hit update now, the correct .bin file will load, and you're ready to roll.
