I think it is asking other people to swallow unquestioningly things like the 'investigation', because at this point we don't know a single bit of dirt from that investigation that didnt come from some partisan attack piece... just like the partisan attack pieces on Obama... and how many of them turned out to be fabricated, inflated or outright spun?

This is a campaign of epic mudslinging and lies, and I'm treating them all from both sides with extreme skepticsm...

I'm not asking anyone to swallow anything. I have quoted from the Washington Post, MSNBC and Washington Monthly.

You've quoted unproven allegations and things already proven false, that were carried by the press...just like they carried the 'Obama sworn in on a Quran' fakes, the Michelle Obama 'Kill Whitey' tapes, and so and and so on...so many that Snopes can't keep up...

But you feel free to fall in lockstep with whichever propaganda line suits you, I'm going to be  rejecting it from both parties.

I think they are desperate and practicing the best demagogy they can.
Arrogance, pure arrogance not to mention a heaping of disdain for the intelligence of the electorate...

I believe in skeptism. All I've said is that I have concerns about some things I see as red flags. Which things have I quoted that are now proved untrue?

The part you are quoting is opinion from the blogger.  But notice that Federal support was already pulled when she started...

quote:

By that point, the project was endangered for reasons that had nothing to do with Palin—the bridge had become a national laughingstock, Congress had stripped away the offending earmark

http://74.125.95.104/search?q=cache:RL3FJAhN1ksJ:gov.state.ak.us/archive.php%3Fid%3D623%26type%3D1+%22Ketchikan+desires+a+better+way+to+reach+the+airport,+but+the+%24398+million+bridge+is+not+the+answer&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=3&gl=us&client=firefox-a

Understand that I am not arguing that there was no desire on her part to increase transportation to and from the island, I am suggesting that she was in favor of finding the most cost effective way to do so.  As is apparant in the statement that the "$398 million bridge is not the answer.", remember Sen Stevens was still fighting for that project even as she directed her department of transportation to find the most fiscally responsible way to make access to the airport easier.

Hence the, if we want a bridge we will build it ourselves, remarks, and the "Thanks, but no thanks".  Thus this is a non issue.

And shouldn't McCain's vetting committe have been equally as skeptible.Wether or not any of these charges prove true ,these issues are out there and should have been enough to lead a prudent and less arrogant candidate to choose another running-mate..

Hi Ron.

As I said, I'm asking questions. I'm flabbergasted by the choice of Sarah Palin as McCain's VP. I'm flabbergasted that if they had vetted and investigated her with any diligence they would have chosen to move ahead in light of some (to me), very red flags.

I'm thinking she must have duped them...I don't know.

I have to agree with Obama here and say that McCain is in the same boat, didnt know how to handle the Preacher Chronicles, McCain has been central to the Keating Scandal and the Alaskand (cause he is sure if we could get the fuckin oil all his problems would go away for as long as he lives) he aint a bad man, but he is tied pretty heavily to the oil and banking lobbies, and that aint illegal.  And in fact, Arbustos claim to fame is that his daddy rolled out a red carpet for him and he ran with it and went bankrupt... and everybody is throwing up their hands and saying 'HOW DID WE COME TO THIS?'.

McCain has made it clear for a long fucking time that we should have that oil, and you goddamn right he will go a long way with folks in that frozen tundra who agree, and that is how business has been done for a long time, and I think that it is a surprise to him that anyone might vett his pick at all.

You cain't fault a small stature and a big dick, it has worked from time immemorial.

Ron

The 'investigation' into her abusing her office to fire her ex brother in law is falling apart faster than a cheap suit. Why would the union lie to cover for her?
The 'only met with McCain 1 or 2 times' is a red herring.
The 'lied about the bridge' is spin...
Nothing about accepting those as showing her unsuitablility to hold the office held by Dan Quayle and Spiro Agnew, is anything remotely resembling my definiton of skepticism.

So, she is in a picture with 6 previous Alaska Governors, big deal.

She also placed second in the Miss Alaska Beauty Pagent, is that going to be the next attack?

Mike,

I am surprised to see you this interested in the GOP vp nomination.  Especially in how she was or wasn't vetted, and these allegations.  Where was the same sort of skepticism over the Biden pick and the potential problems with him?  You know like stuff that got overlooked during the pomp and ceremony of this past week, such as:

Biden Tied to Rezko Fraud Figure
Vice-Presidential Candidate's Former Campaign Advisor and Fundraiser Aided Kickback Scheme
By JUSTIN ROOD
August 25, 2008  Barack Obama's vice-presidential pick complicates the Democratic hopeful's efforts to distance himself from a far-reaching Chicago patronage scandal.
Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., brings to Obama's presidential campaign assets like foreign policy experience and a knowledge of Washington. But he also brings another tie to the Antoin "Tony" Rezko scandal, a mess that has already caused sizeable headaches for the Obama campaign.

 and http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/rezko/1124666,CST-NWS-rezko25.article
quote:

DENVER -- No matter what help Barack Obama might get from Sen. Joseph Biden, his newly named vice presidential running mate won't give Obama much cover on the Tony Rezko front.
Biden has described himself as a 30-year friend of a key figure in the Rezko trial who's pleaded guilty to a federal extortion charge in Chicago and is awaiting sentencing.
When the Delaware senator began contemplating his own 2008 presidential run, he initially was helped by Chicago lawyer Joseph Cari Jr., who also served as Biden's Midwest field director in his failed 1988 bid for president.
In 2005, Cari admitted to taking part in an $850,000 kickback scheme that prosecutors say was part of a larger political fund-raising operation for Gov. Blagojevich overseen by Rezko, who was convicted in June of wide-ranging corruption involving state deals.

See and those are a bit more factual and important issues, no?

(CNN) — John McCain first met Sarah Palin only six months ago and had just one conversation with the Alaska governor before offering her the vice presidential slot on the Republican ticket, the Arizona senator's campaign said Friday.

One with no such 'charges' out there?  And who might that be, that the other side couldn't find a single thing, true or untrue, to mudsling  with?

Don't you think her painting herself as a maverick and saying: "And I championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. In fact, I told Congress -- I told Congress, "Thanks, but no thanks," on that bridge to nowhere."at least to be disingenuous?

About what? That there are hypocrites on both sides?  I knew that when you were strenuously denying it months ago.

You latest flip-flop in pursuit of something to hate is of no concern to me.
