Still waiting for you to provide that earlier quote you claimed I made in another thread, specifically called someone else a racist... are you recycling your tired old tactic of making stuff up, and running away when asked about it, only to keep bringing it up?

Or just going for another one of your deliberate thread hijacks?
Tell you what Al lets not hijack this(after you have already insinuated I'm a rasict, impecible timing)send me something on the other side ...and have the stones to read the reply...no mod worries then...what do you say sport, are you up to it,or will you run away....peace and good tidings

Alumbrado -> RE: Republican Branding (8/31/2008 4:55:48 PM)

After you back up your assertion that I specifically called CL 'you are a racist' with a link to that quote. Unless 'stones' is an issue with you there too.

Thadius -> RE: Republican Branding (8/31/2008 5:08:28 PM)

Al I would send ya to the back of the bus, but I don't trust you around my speaker system and fuzzy dice. [8D]

Driving the pimped out wall to wall shag covered love bus of hope,
Thadius

This is not about politics but isolationism. While driving yesterday I saw a billboard for a local college:

'Friends don't let friends take French'
Business courses 100%   Fluff courses 0%

It shocked me, my first thought was 'what about international business? isn't learning another language important and the concept of it being fluff a bit dangerous?'

........i have to say that i find it hard to believe that such a billboard exists, but as i've never seen you post anything remotely resembling a lie i have to accept it.

Come on you right wingers, how about a comment on this. Surely the idea that such a message is being sent out is worrying in the extreme. After all, French isn't just spoken in France. Quebec and north africa come to mind. Both areas where the US will want to do business.

It is from Walsh College, on I75 north a bit south of M24. I was stuck in traffic and had plenty of time to read it. I found it really disturbing, not at all amusing. If I go that way next week I will try and get a pic for you.

It really is there in bright yellow.

Would that be the 'Walsh College of Accountancy' or the Walsh University who makes sure to use the disclaimer that they are not in any way connected with the Walsh College of Accountancy'?

The 'debating tactic' that I regularly use, that is pissing you and others off, is that of not accepting things just because you claim they are so... [;)]

..no it isn't. And you telling us it is wont work either. What you do, is distort what others write, attack the straw man argument you have just invented and then have a go at people when they don't play the game that you have decided they ought to play.
You're absolutely not alone in doing this and have, in the past, rightly held those people up as bad arguers. You have also in the past made me realise when i have made an error. i may not enjoy the experience but i thank you for it.
However, by ducking and diving around in this thread you are destroying whatever credibility you have earned.
The issue i have repeatedly concentrated on is the inherent bigotry in the sign Camille saw. You have not, at any point, seriously addressed that issue.....and have, instead, either pretended it isn't there or attacked other posters on points they haven't tried to make.
This is the sort of thing you are capable of catching and confronting in others........but you appear to be blind to it when it's your behaviour at issue.

Definitely someone here is blinded... but I have no trouble seeing post after post where I expressly addressed by disagreeing with your assertions.
(If it is only 'addressing' when someone agrees with you, you've pretty much proven my earlier point).

It is not the case that the lack of French in a curriculum is neccesarily either bigotry, isolationism, dishonourable, or worrisome in the extreme. Assertions that you issued as a condemnation, a judgement, and finally as a challenge.

When asked how or why you came to those conclusions relevant to the desire for such a streamlined curriculum for employment purposes, your responses were framed in such erudition as accsuing me of being on drugs and denial of your own words.

If it bothers you when people ask such questions of your assertions, and it bothers you when people bring up that your past denying of clearly printed words on a page feels like deja vu, your remedies are obvious.

Al do you not understand that you have a reputation for using the "racist"label on multiple poster's on these forums..And that a couple of post's ago on this very thread you called me one.Or do you think the fact that you do it cutely by using phrases like "back of the bus"exempts you from being called on it.Tell me Al what is the depth and breath of your knowledge of me ,other than interpatation of post's,that you feel qualified to paint me with the brush of racism....Answer that AL if you don't mind.

I haven't the foggiest idea. It was a billboard.

The design was of lined paper with the writing across it. The predominant color was yellow. The text is exactly as I said, as was 'Walsh' at the bottom. I personally don't attend nor know anyone who does, so I have no idea exactly which school it is.

Why would that even matter?

What does matter to me is the idea that a business education needs to be limited to the English language when we are at a global level of living. I find it short-sighted and it dismays me to think that there really are a lot of people that are fine with not seeing that their world is not the center of the known world.

I see an advantage with someone that has more extensive training and education, yes that includes the concept that there is more than just America. It seems a bit like a school specializing in history but limiting that to immediately localized history when a broader view is needed.

It will be interesting to see if you try and twist my words or imply things I'm not saying.

Sometimes I get a bit of a kick out of forums and tonight is one of those times. [;)]

Answer that AL if you don't mind.

I'll be happy to, as soon as you show me the quotes you keep referring to that have me actually saying those words... specifically calling CL or you 'a racist'. So far, all you have done is run away, and run away, and run away, while repeating the same claims over and over as though they were true.

I've freely admitted to calling David Dukes, StormFront and in direct answer to your sniping about why it matters to me, the people who firebombed my family, 'racists'.  If you want to take umbrage at that be my guest.

If you are so paranoid that you are reading things into statements like me ridiculing you for saying  I shouldn't be allowed to drive the bus, or for you having a problem with me thinking I'm as good as you or anyone else ( things you did say), either I've touched a nerve, or you are just making more stuff up...

So far on your claim as to my 'reputation' we have your word for it... which is as good as all the stuff you've been caught making up just for the sake of derailing threads into your hatefests, which by your own admission, you are doing for your 'amusement'.

I will recant my claim in this thread about hijacking though, since you have inadvertently worked hard to bring to life the OPs opening observation...

"Politics is often the triumph of form over substance, allegation over fact, and propaganda over reality."

through your example here.

The irony of you doing it to attack someone who is apolitical is very likely lost on you though.

Same answer to you... feel free to show me the original words of yours, and any twisting of them from me.. and please, even if no one else, will, use direct links to the quotes.

I've been very explicit about my belief that at the trade school level, I think requirements which add more time, such as French, might act as a barrier to some of those just trying to get out of the day laborer/retail clerk trap.
And I believe there are already enough barriers in place without adding another without a good reason.

That French would come in handy when one is employed in certain fields is not in dispute... that it should be added to every curriculum even for people who just need a job as a security guard, or a clerk in a medical records office, is what I have expressed my disagreement with.

And as always, YMMV.

What I do, is drive people like you to the point of losing it, and resorting to out of control outbursts, and obsessive stalking... your reasons for having that sort of reaction  are your own, as are the rest of your beliefs, opinions, and behaviors.

...yup, we'd noticed. In other words, your basic high school debate tactics.
Which is a bit odd considering you regulary hold other people to account for using, er, high school debate tactics. Hence my earlier accusation that you are a hypocrite.

Alumbrado -> RE: Republican Branding (8/31/2008 11:24:23 PM)

As pointed out above, you have thrown out a broad set of derogatory assertions, in the form of a challenge, and then when asked legitimate questions about the flaws in those assertions, you've turned tail and resorted to ad homs and a repeat of a previous tactic of yours, claiming to not be able to see the words printed on the page.

If it makes you feel better to hide behind more ad homs instead of  addressing your own logical fallacies, go for it, that is certainly one of the options I mentioned above.

Although, truth be told, I was holding out hope that you would take the high road and actually engage in discourse about the merits of your assertions, or at least attempt to defend them with some semblance of reason.

But as a skeptic, I am disappointed more often than I am surprised.

...so when you stated explicitly that i had a reputation of some sort, and when challenged utterly refused to answer.....that wasn't you engaging in an ad hominum attack and then pretending it didn't exist was it? Pot-kettle-black.
