I hope that the people evacuating the Gulf Coast will know to take their pets with them -- I can't tell you how many animals died from being left in crates, closed-up rooms, or even tied outside of their homes. It was horrible! But it looks as though most people are being relatively proactive this time and are taking the threat seriously. My prayers are with all of the affected areas along the coast -- both for the people and the animals there.
