Exercise arms while shoveling snow off deck. Yep, lots of fun.

mnottertail -> RE: Good things about a northern winter? (12/5/2005 6:22:44 PM)

Yeah, I got this buddy Mike Patron (a contractor), owed me some money so he helped me build decks on my house. I wanted a full step down from the sills.........

"Oh, hell no......." he tells me, "that will ruin the lines and you have to have the extra step up and down off your deck, it just isn't done".

Well, I am the dumbass that shovels 'em and and the one that has to bulldoze the door open when it snows.........

Is he here now, to insure the sleek lines of my building?

I hate shoveling decks.

You know Jetblue was Value Jet...the crash in the Florida everglades essentially broke them...(from what I understand) In any event they changed the name to Jetblue to get away from that stigma.

There is nothing good about winter. I was born in the wrong country. [:@]

KatyLied -> RE: Good things about a northern winter? (12/5/2005 7:31:41 PM)

I'm not going to be hating on winter.

I make sure the kids' bus stop (in front of my house) is maintained during the winter. Then I hurry inside for a cup of coffee.

I have a bus stop in front of my house, too!

When *I* went to school, of course, we had to walk uphill in the snow both ways. :) Well, not uphill, but we did walk in the tire tracks in the street, since shoveling was somehow not *done* back then by the folks who lived on our walk to school.

Remind me to find my telescoping snow scraper, ok? It's in the trunk somewhere.......

I just knew someone would resort to scare tactics sooner or later. [:D]Nothing like thinking about those gators to put a pin in my balloon. Goodness gracious how I hate thinking about being eaten by one of those beast. I don't mind if I have to be banished via hurricane or a tornado, but, wild life, yikes, just the thought makes my skin crawl.

Humph, I'm still going, they're now allowing small sharpies on the airlines. I'll fight the gators or whatever with that. LOL (playur haters[;)])

Actually, I believe that ValuJet changed it's name to AirTran and is still going. Jetblue is a different company.

GQponyboy -> RE: Good things about a northern winter? (12/6/2005 4:26:06 PM)

There is always that chance that the weather might get so bad that, work is cancelled for the day.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Good things about a northern winter? (12/6/2005 5:09:27 PM)

Just remember that if gators or crocs chase you, serpentine, don't run in a straight line! They can't turn easily, but they can outrun most humans NO problemo.
