You do realise the ownership of potatoes and chips gives meaning to our existence, LaM? Therefore, we're not prepared to let the facts get in the way of our good story.

The English lost all rights to discuss chips when they let themselves be bullied into stopping using newspaper to absord the oil from fresh chips. For shame England.*

*Yes, I like fish and chips and found them to be the only food not of south asain origin I liked eating in england. Putting them on brown paper though?

I love how this thread has turned out: from creationism to root vegetables. Et en passant par la pipe, en plus: tant va la pipe à la bouche que plus elle se fume. C'est BEAU. But LDRandastarte... you need a different online translation tool. Unless... perhaps you were making poetry  "à la Ron" ?

I gave up on the monster I created yesterday and spent the day fishing.  I'm frying up some of God's aquatic creatures tonight.

Beer is the solution to impatience while fishing.  I was fishing for Bass today; I kept 3 decent sized large-mouths that I caught.

If a class in philosophy is offered that would be the right setting for the subject.  Science classes need to be about science.  Most high schools that I know of do not have the funding or interest for philosophy classes.  There are plenty of philosophy courses at many colleges and universities, and even community colleges.

On the flip side, should evolution be taught at seminary schools?

I can't speak for them, but I do know that the Catholic church accepts, rather half-arsedly, the findings of science, whilst arguing that human beings are 'a special kind of creation'. It all happened during Vatican II.

I learned about evolution--and not half-heartedly, either--at Catholic schools.

If that seminary school teaches biology, yes.

Aucun numéro 6 le Français n'a créé le monde, ou des pommes frites pour cette matière.
(No number 6 the french did not create the world, or french fries for that matter.)

That must be why the House changed the name to freedom fries.

Me too.  It was taught very objectively.  Science was kept in science class while religious concepts were discussed in religion class.  I think we put too little faith in children that they aren't able to distinguish between the two.

The Big Bang Theory and "Let there be light!" go hand in hand. As far as sequence, science and biblical scripture do tell the same patern from light to earth with life and finally humanity. According to scripture, God takes the earths elements and molds them to create man. When we examine the human body, we find all sorts of minerals and chemicals that come from the earth.

Now, what if all that molding was a long process of making figure after figure and slowly changing those figures into a completed piece? As science explores the past, it finds the old figures and molding patterens that we as Man originated from.

The Catholic Church as taken great strides in pointing out as to how Big Bang and Evolution is proof of Gods inteligent design for us and everything else.
