I used to have a slave that I had sleeping tied up in medical restraints every night. So that was 8 to 10 hours.
The longest I kept someone in rope bondage in one position was for about 6 hours.
So if  you want to try bondage for longer than one hour I am happy to help you with the experience.

Is there more to this question....regarding safety when restraining someone for long periods?  Just the same....we can keep it simple...the longest I have restrained someone is about 6 hours....also connected to sleeping in restraints (locked wrist cuffs with chains to the bedpost).  Important thing is supervision (just to add my two cents on the safety thing just in case).  It's so nice to fall asleep with a beautiful woman next to you in cuffs and not much else.

Oh hell.  I can't be tied for long at all.  Crappy shoulders and knees will do that.  Oh yeah...crappy neck too.  Maybe twenty/thirty minutes at the most.

  I was tied up in an awkward position for nine hours or so once... and it resulted in nerve damage.  I've been hesitant about long-term bondage since.

I once had to get rid of a verrucae and had myself tied up in a lotus position with sisal rope, then had myself lowered face down into a tall upright freezer for a week.
The verrucae was gone.
Nonsense of course, but some of you started it.

3 weeks, but then the neighbours started to complain about the stench. I had to cut her down. Spring thaw and all.

Hmm, maybe I missed something but I didn't see this as a bragging thread at all; rather an OP that showed curiosity as to what others have experienced, and who hopes to experience more than what she already has. I was pretty curious as to what others would answer as well, since my own experience with being tied has been minimal.

I honestly have no idea if an hour is considered a long time or a short time. I've been tied all night, but it was fairly loose, so I could stretch limbs and such. I've been tied very tight for almost two hours and I cramped so much I couldn't lift my arms over my head for the next hour or so. I've been tied in place to have sex with, for less than an hour.

My only real concern was the cramping that two hour time. My arms were tied tightly behind my back and they were really hurting after awhile. I had (and have) no idea if there were risks of damage in doing that.

To the OP, I hope you find what you're looking for.

I was neither bragging nor parodying earlier when I mentioned nerve damage after being tied up for nine or so hours.

It was an overnight situation where my legs and wrists were rope tied ( I'd actually talked the guy out of his original idea of an overnight hog-tie ). Some time around 7AM after a night of not really sleeping - my wrists were tied tight so I could never really relax - I noticed my left hand was totally numb. I used the safeword and he untied me, but my left hand remained numb for quite a few hours after.

  Now nearly all of the sensation in my left hand has returned bar a small area on the back of my hand, but the experience has made be a bit wary of long term bondage, especially rope bondage. I have no medical knowledge, so I have no idea just what physiologically happened in this instance, but this leads me to believe there are long-term damage risks.

Thing is hunni, this isn't just about the OP.  Like every thread here, everyone reads them and that includes people new to the scene who have no idea about bondage and the risks involved.
There is something inherently wrong with assuming that an hours bondage is automatically shit.  For some people, 10 minutes of bondage could be an extraordinary feat depending on medical conditions, both physical and mental.  The assumption that an hour is less stuctured or something to be less admired than a 6 hour session is walking on dangerous territory because each person has different needs, requirements and boundaries.
 
And for someone to come into a thread and just offer up help for her to experience it like it would be totally possible regardless, when they are not even in the same country and have no idea of her medical background sends out the wrong signals and dodgy information to those who have no experience whatsoever.
 
If it was simply a case of 'lets talk about bondage experience and length of time' it would be all cool.  But to announce that an hours 'shit' shows a lack of common sense.

Is this in response to a question? Are you looking to be tied up longer? If neither of these what is the significance of the statement? And..... your point is what?

I'm a fan of long-term bondage.

Have experienced nerve problems in my hands (3 month tingling sensation in my thumbs) after 1 hour in handcuffs in a straining position.

I have slept in in a overnight bondage with out any problems.  I have been in a heavy 24 hour continuous bondage (number of positions) with catheter and gagged the whole time.

Long-term bondage needs a careful planning and a careful monitoring.  Specially in the first hours of it when making sure the bondage does not interfere with circulation, pinches a nerve or puts a strain on joints.
