ORIGINAL: intenze I have to disagree here. I wrote in that death thread too. It was not that I was wishing death on anyone. Death makes people feel uncomfortable, and joking about it is a type of catharsis. I would never truly want to see someone die, and it is true that death is always sad, but I am not going to shroud it in an artificial holiness that keeps me from laughing, albiet uncomfortably. Ditto, except it doesn't make me uncomfortable. Maybe I've an important bit missing somewhere in my brain. I've never understood the weirdness people have with death. I get that the dying process can often be a motherfucker but death itself is, to me, a release. I've often times been relieved and even happy about someone's dying. Even people I've loved a great deal and miss. I see them being freed. Perhaps it all comes down to our own individual perceptions of death as to whether or not we are squicked by other's attitudes. Cuz seriously, I've had more eyerolls over the preachers and pedestal hoppers due to this subject this last three days than I probably had in the...whatever time....since I joined this site.
