I'm not really worried about it lasting more than 4 or 5 days, since it's only in the house and it was 4 bucks. I just tend to get attached to my artwork an then it's sad when ya gotta smash them lol.

last halloween i had a fantastic jackolantern and i put it in the fridge when it wasn't burning; it lasted about two weeks.
you could try doing that to keep it around longer?

on second thought hello kitty seems to be kind of difficult to carve and I want a face that lets a bunch more light show. So I may just do a triangle nose an eyes an a big grin.

on the rare occasions I do the pumpkin thing anymore, I'll DRAW the design on the face, then about 2 days before Halloween I'll actually carve it.. that way I can have it for a bit before dooming it to a speedy death,,,

We carved pumpkins tonight.... and I (being the artist that I am), always have to have the hardest one to do... Last year, I took, and carved a spiderweb into it... it was hard to do... it took a LOT of patience... this year, I did bats... My dad is going to send me the pics he took... Then, If anyone wants to see them, I will be more than happy to share!! I love pumpkin carving!!!

I tried the pumpkin carving thing a few years back.  It was a horribly butchered mess.  Id love someone forever if they carved one for me!  lol.

Please whatever you do, just don't let holly try to bake the pumpkin or thorn near any sharp knives!!!!!

Usually if the room is on the cold side, a carved pumpkin will last a bit longer.

shup Fuzzy One

Coat the pumpkin with a heavy coating of clear varnish once it is cut but ONLY if you do not use a candle....

I know a guy...leaving out names.  He told me once he had sex with a pumpkin.  Cut a hole in it..microwave it.  (no idea how long)
Stick it in..the goo made it nice from what I understand.
Dunno.

Anyway..this thread made me think of him.

I know a guy who did the same with a cantelope.

Depose me ? A coup ? I think not...where are my wire coat hangers ?

Some of you girls are so squeemish, and, btw, not fair. If some of you have an amorous affinity for certain vegetables like cukes, zuchini,, and get an occasional crush on squash, etc., I would think that what's sauce for the goose is also sauce for the gander.

No, but we've seen you in the produce section making your selections, and I've seen porn proof of such doings.

I think that is a male fantasy.  Cucumbers and zucchini can cause a wicked yeast infection.

Hey, you could carve it to look like Mr. Bill. Oh, Noooooooooo!!!
I wonder how many guys have gotten 3rd degree burns on their peckers because they microwaved their pumpkin too long? Where would you get a microwave big enough to nuke a whole pumpkin?
You have odd friends....lol.
