Have you considered that it could be drug interactions that are the problem dollparts? I mean I don't know many people that take that many drugs.

You just said that. Are you trying to increase your amount of posts by repeatedly saying the same thing over and over again or what?

I stopped caring about that kind of triviality two weeks after joining, some though never get past it sadly.

It's not a drug interaction. The symptoms started before I was on these meds. And many of the meds were prescribed to treat the symptoms. I don't like taking meds...I actually hate it. I worry so much about the long term side effects...but I have to take them.

hehe yeah  he wheeks a lot. Always thinks he needs more food even when he already has several choices. LOL He has pellets, hay and parsley in his cage right now and he still wants more choices. LOL probably wants a carrot. Those are his favorite but he only gets 3 or 4 a week cuz they're high in sugar. He fell asleep with his head in his food bowl earlier. LOL such a silly piggy.

Doll Make sure that your Doctors are aware of both your rabbit and guinea pig. There are several illnesses and parasites that can be passed on to humans from them, including Tularemia, Lyme disease, Toxoplasmosis, and salmonella, each of which can have impact on a compromised immune system. Bulemia and Anorexia can both compromise your immune system, but, if your Doctor is not aware of your pets, it is possible he may miss blood tests that would aid in diagnosis. While all of your symptoms are not common for all of the various illnesses, not everyone exhibits all of the symptoms and some people can be asymptomatic or exhibit rarer symptoms. It might be worth investigating, what may be benign in your pets is not always benign in you.

I will mention it at my next appointment. Thanks. Their parasite screenings have always came back negative so I don't think it is that. Plus they don't go outdoors or anything. My rat has never been to a vet though...so I suppose he could have some parasite and I not know it. I may be taking him in soon b/c he has some hair loss around his neck, could possibly have mites or something. It isn't spreading though so I'm not sure. It may be just that he's really really fat. (he's around 2 pounds last I weighed him.)

Not always a parasite..there are about 120 diseases that are zoodemic, passing between animals and humans, not all of them are parasitical, though they can be carried by parasites like fleas, ticks, etc. As well even if your animals are healthy, they can carry bacteria that can affect you. It is one of the reasons they say don't have lizards, snakes, and turtles as pets for small children as they carry salmonella but may never be sick themselves. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/381878_pets06.html . Children are prone because their immune systems are developing, but people who have compromised immune systems can also fall prey. It wasn't until I was video taped one day that I realized just how often I touch things, pet the dog, cat etc and unconsciously touch my face a short while later. My immune system is pretty good, except against respiratory ailments, which I have to be careful of and of course the amount of stuff I carried to my face ( first line of defense against respiratory infections) startled the hell out of me.  Cleaning cages and chasing down droppings if they are running around can leave contaminates around to incubate things.

I wouldn't live without my pets, and I am definitely NOT telling you to do without yours, just saying it might be something for your doctors to consider..another area for them to look at while trying to track down what is going on with your system.

Good luck

Dear Emery,

I couldn't risk another redhead going into what could possibly permanent oral ecstacy from CM truffles, so I must go hide them... strictly for preserving your health and safety.

Hello Dollparts.  I wish you the best.  if you are not having success, you truly need to see one big group of specialists.  Where I live, patients are referred to either a University Hospital, or to Mayo Clinic, or even the Cleveland Clinic.  For someone so young to be experiencing pain daily, and bleeding without diagnosis is not good.  Have you been checked for Renal cancer?  and, just an observation, to be on three meds just for anxiety, is alot.  Of course, perhaps your meds could also be doing other things.  Consider going to a larger center, and being looked at as a "whole person"..not seeing individual specialists who look at individual problems.

Wish you the best.

My health has been horrible this past year. A few weeks ago, I went to the ER with GI bleeding (diarrhea with large amounts of dark red blood with black clots) they haven't found the cause yet b/c I'm still waiting to see the GI specialist and I didn't want to be admitted into the hospital.  (stupid, I know but I really didn't think it would take this long to see a doctor for OP testing. If I had known, I would have stayed.) But the bleeding seems to have stopped with the IV they gave me. I believe the IV was Protonix (sp?) and fluids b/c my sodium levels were low. (other electrolytes were fine though.) my white blood count was up but I wasn't anemic at the time.

Now I'm starting to worry that that may some how be related to the blood in my urine. I have had blood in my urine every time they have checked it for the past 5 months or so. The urologist did a CT scan but found nothing wrong. I'm also having painful urination on and off as well as bladder spasms which I take Vesicare for now and it helps quite a bit. My urine and vaginal cultures have been coming back negative though. I also have protein in my urine but the Nephrologist has put that off to my weight.

I have also been experiencing nose bleeds since Spring...my doctor says it's allergies but it's not normal for me...I never had them as a kid...

I currently take the following medications:

Cymbalta (antidepressant)
Neurontin (mood stabilizer)
Buspar (for anxiety)
Levothyroxine (for hypothyroidism)
Lisinopril (to hopefully reduce the protein in my urine)
Vesicare (for bladder spasms)
Ortho Tri Cylcen (for heavy bleeding and cramping from my period)
Prilosec (for the GI bleeding)

I don't take NSAIDs or Asprin.

I'm just really worried that something is wrong and the doctors aren't giving me any answers. I'm hoping the GI doctor figures something out. I'm also planning on going back to my urologist soon to see if theres something that could be causing the symptoms. I was hoping they would go away after starting Vesicare but they aren't. Anyone have any idea what could be causing all or some of this? Things I can bring up to my doctor?

hmmmmmmm have you ever had a doctor do a detox reevaluation of your prescriptions and such to see if you could take one medication to tackle multiple things such as your andtidepressant and antianxiety medication being one and the same and when i was having some problems with things that could be possible side effects of meds i started looking up on Webmd the medications and side effects and started looking for other meds that could do the same thing to change meds and cancel out and get rid of the side effects i was experienceing instead of taking multiple meds to counteract the side effects of another.

I have been following this thread as I have similar issues. I have IBS-D normally but last week I got plugged up and was miserable. Than on top of that I got a hemorroid and it busted from trying to go and the blood was scary. Thank the gods my mom was here and was able to explain what the heck it was. I thought I was dying. But ever since I can remember I have had stomach issues. 15 years ago I had a barium enema done to check for any issues and then 12 years ago I had the gastro endoscopy (down the throat). Came back normal and I am supposedly healthy. No allergies at that time. I am lucky to have 1 day a week where I feel decent. Most of the time I am nauseated or just have a gut ache. I too had Anorexia when I was younger but it has been years since that ordeal. I thought about a gallbladder issue and once I get medical insurance I will get the big once over and see whats going on. My periods are wonky too because I spent 15 years on Depoprovera. Ive been off now for a year. I also suffer from sever panic attacks and anxiety. Actually, most of what you have, I have. I dont have dark bloody stools or blood in urine or nose bleeds though.

I am interested in hearing how things pan out for you. Let us know. I hope things are ok and it's not something serious.

Cheers,
bella

Thank you. I'm starting to feel like a complete loon, like everythings all in my head and I'm making a big deal out of symptoms I shouldn't be worried about. *sighs* The bloody diarrhea really scared me though...I guess it shouldn't have. I'm embarrassed now that I know it was nothing serious. I'm just wondering why the blood was so dark and all if it wasn't from my stomach. >.< I'm sorry you're dealing with similar issues. It's really unpleasant. I wish you the best of luck getting well and figuring out whats going on...
