i have a severe neck reoccuring injury from car accidents and a deltoid tear. i started sleeping on a memory foam contour pillow and after the first week or so i felt a million times better. at first it hurts to sleep because it is correcting your sleeping posture, but once that passes it is heavenly. i also had severe migraines for the last 6 years (about 2 a week or more!) and i started writing down my daily activities, food intake, etc... and found out that the more caffeine i put in my body the worse i felt. once i rid of it from my diet (and got over the caffeine withdrawls) i have only had a few minor headaches since then. although i did have to deal with drinking diet caffeine free (crap), but it's better than having a migraine. send me a message if you have questions, as i have dealt with these pains for many years.

OKay. I was just a little concerned. If it's really just a headache....albeit a mother of one..then, okay. I would be more worried if you were having some neurological deficits, too. Like vision trouble. Or loss of coordination, numbness, tingling, or feeling agitated. Stuff like that.

Still, you might want to talk to a doctor sometime, if you can afford it.

I used to get migrains everyday an kiaser told me I was ok just take tylonal. Fortuantly migrains don't come much now days, it just feels like someone is drilling into my head. It is a mother sucker tho when it does, you just gotta lay low an hold on for dear life.

Has any one ever tried visualization techniques, like visualizing the pain going away pr visuializing a gentle brain massage?

I am a big believer in meditation techniques for pain. But it took me along time to learn how to do it effectively.

I have learned though, that tylenol does nothing for migraines. You need something that will help relieve the stress that causes them. Since a sleeping position caused the original pain, have you tried rotating your neck to relieve the pressure? It may hurt, but that might help some.

i studied visualizion as one way to reduce stress.

there are many various techniques that you can try, from visualizing pain leaving as you relax a tightened muscle, going from fingertips to central body, to thinking of yourself in a peaceful place like the beach and relaxing.

If it continues or seems different than what has occurred in the past I really would recommend seeing a doc. If it's nothing it's just wasted time....but if something is wrong it would be best to get qualified help.

I get alot of really bad headaches and have been hospitalized on many occasions for them. There are lots of techniques that can help...but most of those take time to learn.

The thing that concerns me is about yours is the involvement of your neck. I woke up once with a very stiff neck and severe headache. I didn't realize it but I was also running a temp. It turned out to be Spinal Meningitis....which can be fatal. Fortunately though I went to the ER early on because it was unlike the headaches that I normally get, so it was treated effectively.

feline
gotta find the etiology when you do waste a whole day at er
compazine works but what did you do just before
im so sorry you have this
what about emergency chiropractor instead of the er
have a happy newyear to you
right now ,if its any consolation to you ,that someone else is suffering too
some nutcake bum is drilling at my head ,by zapping me right now ; and i cant report or tackle the s.o.b., yet....but torture is also a death sentence in my book with cases outside s and m consent; intamacy; consensual relationships;
just cause im an m ;dont mean i like headaches;
it just means im super sensitive to pain;
i can smell it coming; way before it gets to me
pain is so signifigant to me; its used to control me,
in bed too,
but not by any nutcake i dont give my consent to,not by a long shot;
i was thinking blowgun but; i really have to be 1000% sure and verify first...
i moved 5 times;
going on 2 yrs;
you know; all i found out is; human rights and civil rights dont handle torture cases;
surprize ;surprize; surprize;.....
someone who respects and trusts me ;would send a minute man ;with what i need to get rid of the problem; at the source...but; i have no tops
and i am in pain ;from being tortured; and zapped; in the head....to the point of injury ;so its self defense;
at this point;
youd think america ;has anti torture measures ;for its own citizens of the usa but;
go look ;
no such thing;
alien or going to another country; i have the options of possibly national amnesty; civil rites ;and liberties; all over the place ,but for an american vet ;
nada,
if anyone says im ,in s and m; reporting nutcake cops; and deviant sadisitic bum stalkers; doing the zapping ;i can die in torture;
and if its profitable; die in torture and snufF ;like most all my close loved ones,so far,and the fbi sat back on their az and let it happen...but,
sorry about your pain;
chiropractors do wonders for those type injuries
temporary at first; but after regular sessions; and, lots of time; and immediate rest ;for a few hours ;
it goes away!its fixed!
i was paralyzed by a surprize karate kick from behind so i know...i went immediately,to the chiropractor ;a hospital would ,only keep me ;toss me in a stretcher
bio feedback UNITS (START AT $60) is the last resort....
those machines are at holistic health centers;
soma is good(muscle relaxers,online)DONT MIX ANYHTING WITH IT....
ALSO AMAZING IS THE ANTIGRAVITY-BOOTS; HANG UPSIDE DOWN FOR A STRETCH AND ,IT REALLY WORKS ,FOR SOME INCURABLE THINGS LIKE TINITUS(RINGING IN THE EARS) TMJ PROBLEMS(TEMPORAL MANDIBULAR JAW DISPLACEMENTS PROBLEMS)it just sends the nerve impulse the other way ,in reverse and, cancels it, in some cases.
sometimes; a spotter in a muscle gym can tell you what antagonisitc muscles; to strengthen ;they are used to injuries of this type ,and going to sports-doctors who have to come up with amazing cures ,for bone and ,muscle injuries, on the spot, to keep physical players (like us)playing....
sports doctors get top bucks ,but consult is fine and you can get 2 opinions , before obliging ,or investing in state of the art treatment(sports -medicine)
last but not least
ems machines, at the physical therapists referred ,by your doctor ,at the er ,or buy an ems unit(good, for a non invasive face lift ,too!)muscle mag, or at the mall-health stores,OR THE EDGE STORES AND CATALOG.
starts at $800.00 sometimes muscle mag has less expensive units.this can build up surrounding muscles ,to reduce the strain caused ,by injury
but ,
never stop looking, for diagnosis it's the, only way, to get an outlook ,on the problem and ,the right treatment
there's the immediate distract the pain; or use imaging but ,im no genius, to use that method.i had ;open surgery ,with no anethesia; that way ,but ; i asked the nurse and; she knew how...
finally ;
i am amazed, also ,at pain and, the results, of accupuncture which is aprooved, on most any medical insurances now, for pain ,or drug addiciton.i had it done, in pain research.
it is truly amazing,an ancient art, of redirecting the blood-flow.powerful.!!

IF YOURE INTELLIGENT AND CAN RENEW THE SUGGESTION EVERY 2,5 HRS. YOURSELF.... *Hypnosis AND YOURE lucky ,if you find someone ,or ,if you're a good synambulist-candidate,pay ,by the week ,by the hour ,in groups, with pals is best, for the money....you dont all have to have the same problem and you are all hypnotized individually anyway...in a circle one at a time.

Since I have two feather pillows like I said something it puts your neck all funky and I wake up hella sore. After feeling like dying figurativly speaking for a few hours and a late nap that w/ill keep me up all night it seems to help, but I will definatly mention it to my dr and see if there's anyway to prevent any more pain except by better pillows

LOL, well, I can almost tell you what your doctor will respond to that. It is known that sleeping without anything is the best for you. Pillows place your neck alignment in a position that is not normal. He is almost guarnateed to tell you to not use them.

Another alternative is to get some special therapeutic pillows that are made just for this. You can buy them almost anywhere, and they are pretty cheap. Another suggestion is to try sleeping with a heating pad on your neck at night. but on a very very low setting.

How about a hot cup of tea, and may i sugest going for advil instead of tylonal, it sounds like your system has gotten used to it. The other soluation may be percription pain meds, but you have to see your doc about that one.
