Coupleofwhats -> Porn & Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (12/30/2008 9:42:49 PM)

OK, so I managed to hook up with an awesome videographer, and have been dipping my toe into the world o' kinky filmmaking. The production value's pretty high (nice outfits, cool location, handsome submissives, quality editing) and I've got a buttload of ideas.

I know I can sell these videos to guys. They'll buy videos of pretty girls brushing their teeth. (Really! There's a section on a porn site devoted entirely to toothbrushing.)

What I want to know is: what about the ladies?
Every time I talk about porn (er...I mean... erotica) with other women, they say "Oh, if they made porn that was nicer/classier/more story-based/more focused on showing the man, I would be interested." Yet, when titles come out that are geared towards women, they languish on the shelves. And everyone is always meaning to get around to checking it out. (And I include myself! I've been meaning to order several specific DVDs for months now.)

So, if someone made it, would you buy it? Honestly?
I wanna know.

(And I'm making it easy by offering the videos directly: no need to order a DVD!)

While I enjoy looking at the sort of porn that objectifies pretty (legal) boys, I do not purchase it.  I think the reason may be that its an easy thing for a female to get a male to bare his bits.  We rarely have to pay, and often see more danglies and jigglies than we would necessarily like.  Then again maybe I'm just cheap.
Another reason may be that I never feel that the porn was made for me.  If it was made for a straight man, it does little for me.  If it was made for a gay man, I generally appreciate it, but it was still made for a gay man.  Someone needs to figure out what makes dominant women tick and market that.  Then I'll part with my hard earned cash.

You hit the nail right on the head.
Porn that makes a Dominant woman tick, is not easily found.

Buy...porn? People actually still pay for that stuff? [:D]

DavanKael -> RE: Porn & Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (12/30/2008 10:38:51 PM)

If it were something that really fit a specific interest I had, I would but otherwise, no.  It would take a lot for me to may $40 for a porn DVD these days; there are so many places where they can be had much less expensively.
Also, I don't necessarily like porn that's geared toward women.
I do, however, wish you luck with your endeavor!  :>

FR:  Since the early 1980s there have been a few producers of  "woman-made porn"/pro-sex porn/feminist porn/lesbian porn which My Domme friends and some Lesbian friends swear by.  Fatale media (http://www.fatalemedia.com/about.html) is a long-standing producer of sexy woman-oriented porn.  S.I.R. Video Productions is another, younger company.  The venerable Venus of porn, Susie Bright, has written several nice full-length videos.

As to D/s related porn that might turn on women, back in the day Shadow Lane made several sexy spanking videos and slowly moved into D/s -sex vids (I know this sounds odd, but c. 1980 it was HUGELY controversial to show a sexy girl being spanked and then...OH MY GOD...actually fingered to orgasm!  It wasn't censorship -- the SL folk had a serious backlash from their "spanko" customers when they introduced ANYTHING that showed sex related to B/D/S/M.)   I lost touch with the Shadow Lane crowd years ago...don't know what they are doing...but I recommend their catalog to women (Domme and sub).

E.   who thinks he might go look up in the attic at all those old...gasp...VHS tapes.

The idea is that I would do some videos that were geared towards dominant women. Y'know, by us for us?
I thought that handsome subs, different pacing, less explicit/graphic shots of genitalia would be a good start.

It would be more like $5 - $10 generally. And could be downloaded or viewed in streaming video.

LadyPact -> RE: Porn & Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (12/31/2008 12:21:15 AM)

Honestly, I probably wouldn't, but I'm not big on porn to begin with.  I've had a blast making My own of certain scenes, etc., but it's just not something I generally buy.  Every once in a while, I'll get a craving to watch m/m porn.  That's really about it.  When that comes around, I usually just find what I want on someone's cam somewhere.

Still, don't take My opinion as the majority.  I wish you luck with the idea.

BondageBarbieX -> RE: Porn & Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (12/31/2008 12:22:37 AM)

People actually buy porn of tooth brushing when You Tube is readily available to satisfy that?I watch all kinds of fetish stuff on You Tube my newest favorite is 'gainers' ,women eating and also women playing with their fat.I have no idea why I watch it but I do.
With the internet , KINK.com and RedTube out there ..no..I would not buy a porn dvd.

BitaTruble -> RE: Porn & Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (12/31/2008 1:50:50 AM)

I've bought exactly one porn video in my entire life.. a m/m prison video which I lent to a 'friend' who never returned it. Too bad because it was pretty hot. I seriously doubt I'd ever purchase another one unless it was the same theme to replace the one which was never returned. M/M in prison.. yummy and not something that I'm likely to get to ever view or participate in IRL.

No.

chezzy71 -> RE: Porn & Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (12/31/2008 4:28:44 AM)

If i was 19 and foolish as i once was..certainly.But i am 56 now and real life interests me and not necessarily real life sexual stuff. You know, a great piece of music really makes what is left of my hair stand on end almost always.

MsStarlett -> RE: Porn & Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (12/31/2008 5:34:17 AM)

I'd make one of my boys buy it for me.   Does that count?  [:D]

Oh Lord!  How many of us have made 'amateur porn' of ourselves?  Did you look as bad as I did?  *Yeesh!*  Try setting up a camera of yourself having sex with a loved one and then watching it.  You'll get a whole new perspective on WHY porn stars are always Barbie dolls.  'Real women' have rolls in the wrong places!

preferedslave -> RE: Porn & Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (12/31/2008 5:49:17 AM)

preferedslave -> RE: Porn & Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (12/31/2008 5:52:00 AM)

[:D],, people like to know how to get more positions from porn movies ..[:)]

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: Porn & Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (12/31/2008 6:09:22 AM)

honestly, watching porn doesn't do anything for me.  so no matter how classy and/or "nice" your porn story/sexline is, i wouldn't buy it.  i do own a couple of softcore stuff bought when i was married to my ex however i haven't watched them in years.

Coupleofwhats -> RE: Porn & Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (12/31/2008 7:16:05 AM)

Well... that answers my question: I'll just stick to making stuff that'll sell, then.

Thanks for the input!
