Knock knock... Mars and Spinner both gave you recent examples of Limbaugh being wrong on two separate occasions. Since all of us know of countless similar reasons where Limbaugh was wrong, and hateful, it follows that it's logical we should call him a fucking cretin and a fathead. After all, he is those things every single day.

Ya know,
I don't really care for what he says, but it is about what he says, not who he is.  That's one major problem I always see here...don't attack the issues, attack the man.   It really is cowardice of the highest nature.

NOW, if you want to say he's wrong on issue X or Y because of Z or W, then fine.  That's a discussion.  But otherwise, it isn't going to convince anyone...because there is never an argument made without a slam.  And that immediately puts your whole argument into a suspect state.

What issues for me?  Abortion, religion, and gay lifestyle for three.

Fine..so let's say, sticking to issues only, that Rush has shown himself to be against a woman's right to choose as well as her right to free choices in her health care, that he is blatantly against the separation of church and state and a vocal homophobe . I find those positions ethically reprehensible as I do the way in which he expresses them.

Is that any better?

No, what is cowardice of the highest nature is a man who spent years proclaiming there should be no sympathy for drug abusers.

I believe the phrase he used was lock them up and throw away the key.

But, of course, he himself just made a mistake.

Way too funny!

The mouthpiece of the Republicans getting trashed by the Republican chairman.

• Limbaugh's latest attacker: RNC Chairman Michael Steele

On the same night he was offering the keynote address to the Conservative Political Action Conference, Rush Limbaugh drew criticism from an unlikely source: Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele.

In a little-noticed interview Saturday night, Steele dismissed Limbaugh as an “entertainer” whose show is “incendiary” and “ugly.”

Steele’s criticism makes him the highest-ranking Republican to pick a fight with the popular and polarizing conservative talk show host.

But the new RNC chairman’s extraordinary comments won’t sit well with the millions of conservative listeners Limbaugh draws each week, and Steele aides scrambled to limit the damage Monday morning by trying to change the subject.

Finally...someone in the RNC stood up to this putz.

Definitely.  And I agree.   See, we didn't have to actually resort to calling him names to disagree with him...

Naw...there is no need for name calling...it actually gets in the way of your argument...just ask Moderator Eleven what happens here if you start calling other people names.....

So calling names diminishes anything you'd say.

Naw, that would be being hypocritical, not cowardly.

He looks like he's be a compliant sub, and I like his voice; so I could make him read the outrageous BS the conservatives through out during the campaign, and instantly be turned on for the rest of the time.

Sure...just don't expect anything different from people on the other side when they talk about Obama or any people in his Administration.  People tend to seek the lowest common denominator.....

Imbecilically hypocritical: talk about attracting attention to his own problem  .

What, no forgiveness?  Isn't that what people want for every other drug addict out there?  Treatment, not jail?

I'm not asking you to like him, or associate with him, listen to him, or sleep with him.  We have someone who tried pot by his own admission as our president.   And legalizing pot was the number one "request" at change.(gov? org? some?)

Rush is a hypocrite, but try not to be one as well.

Hang on a minute... are you trying to call me a hypocrite because I see no reason to forgive Limbaugh? Forgive him for what? He's never done anything to me personally. There's nothing to forgive him for: he is wholeheartedly unapologetic.

I don't give a flying duck's fuck about his drug problem: we all have personal shit to deal with, but since you ask nicely, I don't think drug users should go to jail. What's Limbaugh's position on the subject again? I just wish he'd shut the fuck up and check himself into a monastery for the rest of his life - preferably one where the monk has to make a vow of silence upon joining.

Edited to add: although if Limbaugh wishes to take over the reins ailing GOP, I'd be delighted if he kept on babbling. It's in our collective interest  .

Well, it's all become moot at this point: Steele has recanted, and apologized to Rush.

Let me say that again: The head of the republican party turned over on his stomach, and stuch his ass in the air for a raido show host. He is now falling into line with the rest of the C-PAC attendees:

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AGREES WITH RUSH: THEY WANT THE UNITED STATES TO FAIL!

Please remember this for the next election. Thank you.

I don't really think this about sides.

It's about someone who has made millions of dollars appealing to, as you said, "the lowest common denominator".

He's a shock jock just like Howard Stern.

Only Stern doesn't take himself seriously like Limbaugh.

And no one takes Stern seriously, but unfortunately many take Limbaugh seriously.

You can see by this thread the type of followers his rhetoric attracts. It never ceases to amaze me how many easily led by the nose people there are in this country.
