For the most part, my taxes are staying right about the same or falling slightly. Yeah, the cigarette tax is a bit... no pun intended, taxing. But you know what? Maybe it's time for me to quit. I should. Or maybe I can just suck it up... christ... again, no pun intended, and go have another. Thing is, I don't NEED to smoke. It's a luxury tax, just like that $4,000 gas guzzler tax on that gorgeous Audi R8. Or the high luxury tax on a 12 bedroom mansion. It's my choice if I want to pay it or not. I don't need an R8 (no matter how much I want one), when a Scion xB will do me just peachy. I don't even need one of those, when I have a public transit system here that works fine, and a bicycle. I don't need a 12 bedroom mansion, when a 3 bedroom house (2 bed, 1 office) works great for me, hell, I could even drop the office if need be. The taxes on food and other necessities will be going down, yay. Whatever. I know what most people will do with that little savings there. They'll pump it into their gas tanks, or their stomachs, and then bitch about something else. I probably will do the same thing. Such is human nature. Shite, now I do want a cig... thanks a lot for wasting my money, uh, Easter Bunny! What? I have to blame someone else, don't I? It seems the whole personal responsibility and accountability thing is an outdated and quaint theory. May as well be that damned rabbit. EDIT: Not directed at you O59, or anyone at all for that matter... was just a quick reply...
