Yes, that's the literal meaning of "oenomel."  But it has a more useful derived sense.  It's a poetic term meaning "anything that combines strength and sweetness."

OK, a lot of catching up to do.

"Feague" has a lot of meanings, and I didn't know any of them.  Ron was right that the basic meaning seems to be "to sweep."  Most commonly it means "to beat, to whip."  And it also has the sense that mistoferin is talking about.  But that seems to be a variant of "to fake," which originally meant dressing up an animal to make it look more desirable than it really is (for the purposes of sale).  It's also related to "fig," as in "figging."

Whoda guessed that "fig" and "fake" are related?

"Wattle" has several meanings too.  One is "rod, post, twig," especially for use in a fence.  Another is "a fleshy lobe hanging from the head or neck of certain birds."

"Screef" is a variation of "scruff."  It refers to surface vegetation.
