A barbarism, unfortunately; a better word would have been "catharomania."  ("Abluere" is Latin, and "-mania" is Greek.)

I don't understand what you mean.  It's a word, but, as I said, it's a barbarism.  Barbarisms are words constructed of roots from different languages.  The first part of the word is Latin, the second part Greek.  Most mania words are entirely Greek.  This one was invented by some doctor or psychologist who didn't know how to say "wash" in Greek.

Actually, the word is "barbarism."  A barbarism and a bastardization are two different things.  He used the wrong word AND misspelled it.

LMAO go figure you would use such a long word that I learned in JR high..... grrrrrr Now I actually need to think for a moment... Okay similar to church and state where the state no longer recognizes or supports and established church....

Freudian Slip - what happened when two people got it on and founded the father of psychology?   That's not just an answer, it may very well be an example...

[oh fine!  It's when you say what you have on your mind in lieu of what you meant to say!  gah!  toy with my anal retentiveness, will you...]

oblique, anyone?  And if you want to argue that it's French, you can define ventricular instead...
