I've met a few people from CM and they've all been good encounters. I wish I was in more of a location to meet more people, but unfortunately, at least for the time being, I'm pretty much isolated from the rest of the bdsm community.

For me, meeting doesn't have to be about clicking or focusing on a potential relationship. I've had interesting (and by interesting, I mean the positive usage of the word) get togethers with people from  here, and I've never regretted any of them. People are unique and because of that uniqueness can be a lot of fun. We're all usually a bit quirky as well, so that always makes it that much more fun.

A snowball's chance in hell?...

Well I am male (and a guy too).  In less than a year, I have met five women who are on CM.

But then again, I'm the SnowRanger.  Not only could I get a snowball in one side of hell and out the other; I'd have it moped up and declared 'out' by 10:00 am!

I've met dozens of people from CM in real time.  A lot of them I know from the boards, and a lot of them I know because we go to the same dungeon.  I love my CM friends, many are like family.  I'm going to be meeting more of them this weekend for my birthday party since it is rather "open."  I love meeting new people and have found most of the ones I've met are very sincere about who they are and what they do.

One in particular is going quite well, and I also met one person from the forums on a friendly basis (not sure if he wants to be identified or not).

I'm thinking he'd be proud to speak of meeting you and spending a perfectly delightful day examining penguins and fish and butterflies and fake multicolored frogs. But that's just a guess, of course.

Women have much better odds on CM than men. Of course that might be true of most websites.

Having said that, I met a woman from CM and she was a lot of fun.

Just a suggestion, try meeting them as people, no agendas, always worked best for me and in a way it does take the pressure out of the meeting.

I met my Domme trainer who taught me skills such as flogging, edge play, and other types of play in person at her Dungeon in Columbia.   It lasted about two months.  Haven't heard from her since.
Then I met another Domme in the lower part of the state who helped me learn to flog as well.  Flogging is something of an art form.  You just cannot get into it.
I also met my slave on my private message board five years ago.  We have been together ever since.
Just a warning to folks visiting people met online.  Take someone with you, or meet in a public place first.

Best Wishes,

Mistress_Jan

Yeah, I really had fun, Panda!

Anyway, way back before the WWW became popular, when the only pictures on the internet were ASCII characters arranged to form crude graphics, I was on a online game. I met people from there all the time, since we had a weekly get-together at a pizza place. Of course, there were people from all across the country who couldn't be there, but there was a sizable local contingent. However, even back then, there were men who posed as women (and even had men show up in person or vice versa), for advantages in the game or to mindfuck the other person, even though there weren't any Nigerian spammers or Tribute Dommes roaming the Net for money yet. So, I always knew that a lot of people online were exactly who they represented themselves as, and was reasonably willing to meet them, but with the knowledge that some people were fakes, or couldn't be trusted. I'd like to think I have pretty good instincts for which category people fall into.

I've met several people from here, and have dated 2 of them, and yes, have it on good authority, I was born and remain a girl.   I will most definitely meet people from collarme in the future, whether romantic potentials, or simply awesome people to know as friends.    M

Sure, I've met people.  I find that I can get to know someone much better face to face than through a lot of IM's and the like.  But I won't go out of my way to meet someone, they have to be available when it is convenient to me.  I know that might seem unfair, but I'm the Domme... *lol* and more than that, I haven't met one yet that I just HAD to meet.  LOL

I'm that category of "female and met people from CM" as well. I joined strictly for the forums, was not interested in meeting a partner though I wouldn't have said no to a casual play partner though I was expecting to meet them through my local club. As it turned out, I met Lumus here on the boards and moved out to Him a year ago this month, now happily and most contentedly owned, collared and married to Him.

For friends, I had Bear as my "best maid" at our wedding and LadyHibiscus and Soul2Share were there as guests also. What a blast, they were here to 5 am that night! And Bear was our houseguest, he stayed here the 4 days he was here. Except for that one night we were evacuated by the Fire Department and Red Cross but that's another story! *winks*

Just last week, LadyHibiscus was back up here and stayed here for Wander's visit through the area, what a blast that was. Soul was supposed to be here a couple of weeks ago but the silly girl got broadsided in a car accident on the way here. Dumbass jerk was yakking on his cellphone and not paying attention to where he was going when he hit her. She wasn't hurt badly, but it did cancel our day together.  I've also talked on the phone with a number of CM members and had hoped to make it to Greedy and Pirate's wedding in February but life was life and we didn't make it down.

Would I meet more people from here? Sure, there are some dear people that I want to give hugs to in person. Are there some I'd avoid? YOU BET! *laughs*  But all in all, CM has been a mostly positive experience for me, even though it's turned out to be so much more than I was looking for.

I've met dozens of people from CM, played with some, and became good friends with others.

Meeting as friends over coffee or at a club or munch is stress-free and works best for me.

Thinking of starting my own local group as I am moving this month.

I am happy to be a woman. I was a Mermaid once upon a time.

Ah!  I saw you once - on the ferry back from Amsterdam, after purchasing my usual monthly ounce of snort.

Thank you. Funny thing about those curves...all lesson, regardless of how "interesting", can still be seen as opportunities to grow. Heck, I'm looking forward to another chance to learn in the next week or so!

I'll admit, I went thru my "kid in a candy store" phase and learned it's better to meet, as LadyConstanze said, with no agenda and enjoy a nice cup of coffee or a stroll in a park then to worry about jumping the gun and assuming anything.

I'm female and I've met a handful of males from CM over the past couple of years and those are in addition to the people (male and female) that I've met at the socials who also happen to have profiles here.
