Don`t know what he`s gonna do,... but we certainly don`t want him.....

Maybe he'll join that hardcore Conservative splinter party that I keep hearing about.

Of course, if the GOP splits into "moderate GOP" and "conservative Christian", well, they'll be even more fucked then they are now...

I always got a laugh out of him. Complained that Obama would raise his taxes while he didn't pay his taxes anyway.

I knew a lot of decent working class guys that paid their bills and met their obligations. Why the GOP didn't get one of them, beat me.

It's going to be interesting to see how the GOP reacts. If they follow their usual tactic, they'll turn on him.

Why would I care what party Joe the Plumber belongs to?

And Mars...why would I would I turn on him? I have never met the man and could care less what party he belongs to. Why would I care what he says or does?

Maybe you think this is the first time anyone has ever changed parties, but it isn't. And it won't be the last for either side.

I have a feeling if you take an average Joe from the streets, they are not really Democrat or Republican regardless how they register for vote. This is why both parties election campaigns are full of promises they never deliver.

Boi, why is it, do you suppose, that whenever I say the GOP will do this, or do that, or in any way critisize them, you seem to automatically assume I'm talking about YOU specifically? Okay, sure. Fair question. Why would the GOP care if "JtP" walks away from them? After all, it's been five months since the election, and close to 8 since we first heard about "good ol' Joe." Hell, he should have faded from the spotlight the night after the election. After all, his only value to them was as a symbol... a supposed "average Joe" who would be harmed by Obama's nefarious plans to lower his taxes. But he didn't fade away...

The reason they should care is that now, with his rejection of the GOP, he becomes another symbol entirely. Now he becomes a symbol of how the vast majority of the American people are turning away from the GOP's failed policies.

Personally, I really don't care. As I said, his fading back into obscurity is overdue. The guy was a fake from day one, when he walked up to Obama and tried to "ambush" him about his fiscal policies (while a friend video-taped the exchange). This was a guy who wanted to manufacture his own celebrity, and who succeeded beyond his wildest dreams. All he had to do was lie. Lie about his name. Lie about his being a lisenced plumber. Lie about his wanting to buy his employer's company. Lie about how Obama's tax revision would "ruin" him. Lie about his background and history.

Pfft... good riddance.

AFAIK he hasnt "switched sides", he has expressed disenchanment with the GOP but never embraced the donkeys (an altogether fitting mascot btw).
