Ah - well, I've an idea for that.  A chain, running up his sleeve, down the inside of his shirt and into his trousers.  There, it can be attached according to your preference.  Now that's control.  Discreet, but effective. [;)]

girlivy -> RE: public humiliation? (5/29/2009 7:10:07 PM)

If i offend anyone, that is on them, and not on me. Not to say my respect level is nill for another, it is quite the opposite, but i refuse to live my life as i see fit formyself just because i may offend another. (anymore)... The sword will forever be double edged.

When my uns were/are old enough to ask a question, they are old enough to hear an honest answer IMHO

In order for it to be humiliating, does it not automatically have to be in front of people who will be upset about it?
If you wouldn't find it humiliating at a dungeon, then you probably wouldn't find it humiliating in a gay bar or a section with a lot of gays. Leaving for another time the fact that gays and lesbians have children also.

So doesn't the op have to do this in front of ums, elderly and so on to get the reaction that is wanted?

Probably yes but that does not equate to it being right in my opinion.
Like i have already said go ahead knock yourselves out, do as you wish. Just don't be surprised when people say something derogatory as they do about many things.

No disagreement. I don't espouse nor condone this behavior. I was just wondering how someone who doesn't find it humiliating to do this in a bdsm club would find it humiliating to do it other places unless he/she were doing it in front of the very people who would be upset by it.

My normal comment to someone who needs the public humiliation is that I would rather they didn't upset my ill, elderly father but instead go do it in front of their own elderly relatives. Surprisingly enough, no one has ever said what a great idea this would be to do something like this in front of their own young kin or elderly family members, they only want to upset other people's family.

Missokyst -> RE: public humiliation? (5/29/2009 9:48:06 PM)

Hmm... You know.. I don't think I have ever heard of anyone who wishes this to say, I think I will take my slave to the family reunion in his collar and leash.  You have made a very astute comment.
Now as for leash.. if the OP's sole purpose is really solely to have him attached them why just have him slip a finger through the owners belt loop.  I can recall hours of trailing beside any number of my x mates in just this manner.  Attached, but not out to shock.  Of course, despite that clarification the OP made, the title of this thread is humiliation.

We are thinking of having a joint birthday party next year.  My friends and family will all be there.  And we would hate for people to be unable to turn up as themselves just because someone might be offended?  But then, I wouldn't count our friends as normal or average or freaky - just our honest to god, true to themsleves, friends.
With no conditions.

Do it on Halloween, nobody will bat an eye.  Doubly true if the sub wears one of those headbands with ears on them.  You can get away with wearing all kinds of things on Halloween without anyone noticing or giving it a second thought.  You will probably get far more attention and have the added benefit of being able to be open about the 'costume' to anyone that shows even the slightest interest in it.

Why should every one be subjected to others sexuality. If i offend someone by going to far that is not on them it is on me. We live in a society with rules for a reason, if people don't like the majority opinion they should go live in the woods or start a new community not try and force their choices on to kids, old people or any one else that just doesn't want to see our crap.

Ok.  So a gay couple shouldn't kiss then?  Lesbians not allowed to hold hands?  Mr and Mrs Hetrosexual married couple not allowed to say 'I love you' where someone might be offended if they hear and guess their 'sexuality'.
No wonder people are growing up with issues.

To me, there is a difference between displaying love and having sex.

You can attend Thanksgiving with the extended family and be obviously loving and caring without having to dress in fetish gear.

YMMV

But where is the fun in that?[;)]
I did attempt christmas day in a corset once.  Bad idea on the chaffing front mind.
On a more serious note, I don't believe cooking a roast in PVC would be particularly advisable.
No, really.

I should go live in the woods?  Because I don't subscribe to majority opinion? If that were the case, my goodness, there would never be any change in the world.  It's the people who do stand up for what they believe in, in the face of adversity, that the world relies on to move forward.

Now...I have a question...and I might be annihilated for this, but...what exactly is so offensive about seeing someone on a leash?  Why do I need to be concerned about the elderly?  I can see keeping it from children for the same reason we keep any "lessons of life" from children until they are mature enough to handle it.  For that reason alone, I don't bring my private life into public.  But just for discussion's sake, apart from children, how would a collar and leash be offensive?

GreedyTop -> RE: public humiliation? (5/30/2009 12:28:08 PM)

frankly, with the number of Goths walking streets in so many places, I don't see the issue.

I really want to yank a slave of mine by his chained collar in public, but should I? The thing I'm concerned about the most are children and the parents of children. I'm not even sure if doing something like this is legal. I live in the gay part of town filled with sex and head shops so I don't think it'll be a big deal. What do you think? Is it a problem?

i know You're concerned about the kids and their parents & there are the people that say no unconsenting person should be exposed to kink lifestyle without their consent, but around my part of the country, sometimes parents put their little kids in specially made harnesses w/ leashes to hang onto them all, especially if they have a lot of kids, to yank them back if they head toward the streets, etc.  How is that different than a Dom/me yanking His/Her submissive by her/his leash?  It's not like there's any sex taking place.  The idea is still the same, it's control.  The parent controls the child, the Dom/me controls the submissive.  i don't see the difference.  But, society being what it is, depending on where You live and the laws, attitudes and so on in that area, i say expect some flak.  i wear my collar everywhere and, personally, i'd love for Sir to take me out in public on a leash sometime & yank on it a little.  To me, wearing a collar and having it yanked on is not a sexual display.  Maybe it would raise some eyebrows in public, but is there actually a law against it?  Now i'm curious, maybe i'll check that out in my area.  hmmm
