You deal; I suck at conformity.

suck or not...you have no choice. The situation was ruled justifiable and nothing you say is going to chance that. Deal.

I do not care who it was "justified" by.

My opinion means just as much as yours.

Where's your grip?

your opinion does not mean anything as far as the justification from his superiors. He was cleared of any wrong doing by those whose opinions matter in relation to his job.

Bitch all you want, Kim. He was cleared.

YEs you do, you have a choice to be a responsibile adult in these types of situations and bring your denial of guilt up before a judge OR bring your belief you shouldn't have been given a citation even if you are guilty of breaking the law you were cited on - which is the correct place to argue based on the LAW or bring the behavior of the officer up before the judge or the officer's superiors.  Or you can choose to be irresponsible, get out of control and unruly and obstruct the officer in his duty to do his job and put the safety of you both at risk.  And YOU may be the one on TV in tears saying but i didn't DO anything.  Yep you and this lady both have choices of how you act.

From what you are saying you would choose the latter.  If you do, then you may as well be aware now there are consequences -- not as lessons but as means for the officers to gain control of the situation -- you may not like.  However, if you choose the former, more than likely you will be on your way with the only consequences to your breaking of the stated law -- a citation which you may or may not be found guilty of when you argue it in the appropriate venue -- before a judge, if you so choose -- or you may opt in your choices to pay it and not be bothered with the procedure. Or you may choose to do nothing and find you are facing the added consequences of a warrant out for failure to appear and your license will be effected and it will simply add more and more consequences.

Yep, you like this lady HAVE choices.  That was my point all along.

Yeah, my mom used that one too. It only worked until I got bigger, and was no longer afraid.

Chuckles, there is where you are having a problem -- this officer didn't act inappropriately within his authority.  So in this case there was only ONE inappropriate behavior -- on the part of the lady.   YOU may think the officer acted wrong -- however, until such time the law is changed (and the street fighting an officer is NOT how you go about changing that) he did in fact act appropriately for an officer and within the laws allowed to him as an authority.

See you are trying to justify your own mentality of that was wrong -- however, you can't and obviously don't understand that what he did was WITHIN the law based on the situation he was faced with.  Therefore, you can stamp your feet and say he is wrong and NOT put the responsibility of consequences on the appropriate individual -- the lady, but it doesn't change the fact the officer ACTED appropriately.

My momma always said -- life's not fair, when i stomped upstairs because i didn't like the consequences of my actions telling her she was wrong and it wasn't fair etc etc etc.  However, all she was doing was acting within the authority of being my mom.  I didn't LIKE the rules at times, but i was required to act appropriately and not throw fits when i got caught and had to deal with her authority as mom.

angel

Dontcha just love what mom says.

I don’t have a problem. I fully understand that badge and, or uniform, does not automatically make someone ‘right’.

Nor does that title ‘Mom’, ‘Dad’, or any other, when the actions of the person with the title, fall short of what is expected of the position.

When did ‘peace keepers’ become ‘law enforcement’, anyway?

You do know that laws are just rules someone made up; right? For instance, if I was standing on the side of the road, with a police officer, and was told to stay put; if I saw a vehicle heading our way, with a good chance of hitting us/me; not only would I be capable, but I’m moving.

Peace keepers have always been law enforcement.  That is how they "keep the peace."  Its not new or some startling change.  As long as there have been police, they have been charged with maintaining order by enforcing the law.  That's the reality and thats the way it has worked throughout history.

If it was not a law to take her to jail, if she had been willing to sign the ticket, regardless of whether she did it before she got out of the truck, or after; then he did not do his job.

Are you really this delusional or are you just trying to get a rise out of people?

He *did* his job. She became unruly and dangerous. Several people around the country (his superiors and those responsible for looking at incidents like this) decided he did the right thing. What you think or do not think is irrelevant.

He
Did
His
Job.

Wanna know how you can tell? She was taken to jail instead of the morgue and he got to go home to his family. If you have a problem with that, there's something wrong with you.

Tasers are lethal weapons.

No they aren't. Every case in which someone has died as a result of the taser, the death was actually caused by a pre-existing condition no one could have known about.

If tasers were lethal weapons, idiot kids wouldn't enjoy tasing themselves for entertainment purposes on national TV.
