I could really care less about his marraige, however when he calls on Dems to step down because of "low moral" he should have been looking in the mirror. Though he never did complain when GOPer's had an affair (with a menber of the other gender)

Plus he is the head of a group that goes around preaching what makes a good marrriage and using himself as a role model. So for all thise statements he deserves everything thing he gets bad pres wise and perhaps he should do what he demanded others do, step down. Though we all know the spin will keep him in office

I believe the term is hoist by his own petard.

Personally I've been enjoying quite a good laugh about this but I don't live in Nevada.

I don't know, and haven't ever heard of Ensign.

But a hypocrite is a hypocrite, regardless of the party.

However, the article quoted is also pretty hypocritical and designed to only show one side of the story. Notice this paragraph:

Since his election to the Senate in 2000, Ensign has been a leading conservative voice who demanded the resignation of former Idaho Sen. Larry Craig in September 2007. Ensign called Craig a “disgrace” after he was arrested in June 2007 in an airport men’s restroom on disorderly conduct charges. But when Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) acknowledged having an affair, Ensign didn’t call on him to resign.

Notice the attempt to paint him as a hypocrite who condemns Democrats, and remains silent on Republicans (that is the message you got, when you read the story, wasn't it?). Larry Craig is a Republican as well, but the writer of the article "artfully" leaves that information out, in order to (apparently) bolster their desired agenda.

Like I said ... hypocrisy is hypocrisy.

Perjury requires that the action not be frivolous, the suit in question was found to be so. That's why no perjury charge was ever brought.
