Eating is one of my favorite hobbies. I do most of the cooking in my relationships. It's kind of a control thing and I enjoy it. I don't just control the outside of my sub, but the inside as well

Having your pet keep a food journal is an excellent idea. I do that a couple times a year just to check my diet. It's amazing the things you don't really think about in a week, little snacks and such. It'll be useful to see if he is not just eating enough but also making healthy choices. In order to keep the stamina you may want up, he gonna need a mixed diet with protein, carbs, and all the good stuff. There are tons of excellent tips on the web but one of the best I have seen comes from some late night infomertial thing I got into for a bit, beachbody. They have a calorie and meal planning calculator that's pretty good. Food network also has some great and simple healthy eating choices. No reason at all you both cannot eat healthy food that tastes good and costs little.

I think the 1 meal a day thing is very common in teenagers by about age 24-25 anyone eating like that is going to run into some serious health problems cause even if you eat the best health foods there is just no way to get all the daily servings into a single meal without putting your metabolisim and digestive system through hell :P
course if your 18-19 you can eat a pizza and stay up for 2  days and still function lol.   If I tried to just eat a pizza and stay up to 2am I would be mess for days haha

I am against it 5 to 8 meals a day...small ones or if your going for a different goal then decent sized ones. From personal experience I am into bodybuilding so I am eating 5 to 8 times a day depending on what my schedule permits I always try to pre cook meals for the week. But on saturday I only had eaten one meal a day because I was sooo busy and by 5 o clock in the afternoon I almost passed out. You need to figure out caloric needs because if your not getting enough in your body then your body will start to eat itself you will become weak and dilerious. Hope I spelled that right my apologies if I didn't.
