When everyone in this Country gets tired of the tax increases that will affect all of us, she will look very good compared to a socialist like Obama. Why are those on the 'left' obsessing about her? They are worried. Otherwise they would let it lie..They can't...

As if the massive budget deficits that his predecessor left us didn't effect everyone?

It's always interesting to read what the soft-headed, dull, bitter liberals on here (such as you, thatdamnedpanda) have to say about a classy lady like Sarah Palin.

Her announcement wasn't rambling at all. She has more class and dignity in her little finger than any Democrat on the national scene.

Democrats in Alaska, what few there are, have been harassing her with one ethics complaint after another, all of which distract from her ability to do her job as governor, and more importantly, waste precious tax dollars and human resources. But then, that is a typical liberal ploy. She is simply unwilling to allow those liberal simpletons to continue to waste her time, money and energy (and that of the state of Alaska) by filing endless moronic ethics complaints (all of which have been tossed out after being reviewed as being groundless).

In other words, she is a true public servant, who is willing to step down for the good of her state, although she is well loved there. You see, thatdamnedpanda (and other dull liberals who irrationally hate this woman), she actually sees herself as someone who cares for her state and the resources thereof - that is, the tax payer's money - and would rather step down than allow those same dim-witted and hate-filled liberals to waste precious dollars on frivolous political attacks.

Of course, I don't expect liberals to understand that kind of integrity, and that's why you claimed she was "rambling". She was focused, coherent and dignified, and unlike the clown in the white house, she spoke off the cuff, without notes, and no teleprompter.

I'd like to see Obama give any kind of statement or speech without his precious little teleprompter to tell him what to say.

God bless Sarah Palin, a true American and genuine stateswoman.

Referring to herself in the third person, Palin continued: "Here's what she does. She drives through a full-court press, protecting the ball, keeping her head up because she needs to keep her eye on the basket and she knows exactly when to pass the ball so that the team can win, and that is what I'm doing, keeping our eye on the ball – those represent sound priorities – remember, they include energy independence and smaller government, national security and freedom, and I know when it's time to pass the ball for victory and I've given my reasons now, very candidly and truthfully, and my last day won't be for another few weeks so the transition will be very smooth.''

When someone speaks of themself in a third person, they're a ditz.

Thank you..

You do realise that the above is a pathetic reply, don't you? And that Palin has gone out of her way to assert how genuine her proletarian credientials are?

Personally, I don't give a flying duck's fuck what people's social background may be. On the other hand, it comes as no surprise to me that you would use an individual's background against them.

After all, the upper middle-class intellectual elite is something to be shunned and feared, right? Because it puts off Fox News viewers. N'est ce pas?

Il faut sourire, quand on ne sait pas.

Just out of curiousity, does it make you somehow feel superior to others when you switch to french in the middle of your reply? Or is that just a method you use to get around potential moderation?

explain how someone who grew up in the north east, went to Yale and obtained a degree in law, worked for the Childrens defense fund and SBA, is considered a hick?

curious

servantforuse -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/3/2009 6:32:04 PM)

I don't care where she went to school. She is a hick and also married one. I know several people here in good ol Milwaukee that went to Yale and they made less than I did climbing phone poles for a living. That means squat to me. What matters is how they treat other people, and Hillary was just short of trailor park trash to those around her on that visit..

tazzygirl -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/3/2009 6:34:28 PM)

everyone can have a bad day... at your age, you should understand that. as president, or one being a heart beat away from that office, i dont want a "nice" person. i want someone who can get the job done... and one we dont have to wonder if she will bail on that office half way through as well.

intenze -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/3/2009 6:35:27 PM)

Not that it matters, but Hillary Clinton is from Illinois. She went to Wellesley College and Yale Law School.  Sarah Palin graduated from the University of Idaho in communications-journalism.  She was a sports reporter.

Sarah Palin is simply not that smart.  She is not fit to run this country.  Say what you like about other women in politics, but most of them have more education and ability in their big toe than she does.

I am not a liberal, nor a Republican, but that woman leaves me cold as ice.  It makes me shudder to think that there are actually people who want her to be an elected official.

Neither. It's just the way I speak in real life: I am truly and completely bilingual. Why, does it make you feel inadequate or something? Did you skip French at high school or sumfin? Sometimes, things sound better in French. So I'll switch to that. *shrug*. Many people on the boards think it's just fine. If you don't... TOUGH TITTIE.

Palin to resign at end of month

Posted: 07/03/09 03:28 PM [ET] Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) stunned political observers Friday by announcing she will resign the governorship after just two and a half years in office.

The first-term governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee made the announcement at her home in Wasilla. Some political observers had expected Palin to forgo an opportunity to seek re-election, but few expected Palin to resign office. Her reason for stepping down was not immediately clear.

Alaska's NBC affiliate, KTUU, was the first station to report that Palin would leave office. Her departure paves the way for Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell to be sworn in; KTUU said he would take office at the end of the month.

Her exit will be fodder for any number of news agencies.

I will support her in 2012 because.....

1)     I'm a Republican....and she's hot.

2)     She's a businessperson....and she's hot.

3)     She dresses well.....and she's hot.

4)     I'm not quite certain of her politics but.....she's hot.

5)....and of course.....she's waaaaaaay the fuck over the top hot.

SARAH in 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But lets not forget, she can see Russia. Well, if she can see Russia, they can see us.

And that in a nut shell is why the liberals do not like her..

tazzygirl -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/3/2009 6:58:21 PM)

because she is hot?

Agreed. And besides, her hotness or lack thereof is completely fucking irrelevant.

Give me James Carville anyday.

Actually, it was just a question. Though I do find it a bit telling how it seems that every time someone has a question or an opinion that differs from your own, it's because they must be harboring some fear or inadequacy about something. One might suggest it was caused by an inadequacy fear in you that you project onto others. But I'm neiter a shrink, nor interested enough to debate it. I just find it interesting.

MarsBonfire -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/3/2009 7:12:23 PM)

I can think of at least ONE good reason for her to bug out now... Alaska probably wants it's share of the Stim money. Yet, if she accepts it, that would be a smirtch on ther record as a fiscal conservative... So, leave office before she has to make a decision that would hurt her chances in 2012....

Personally, I hope she DOES run.

Tina Fey will be able to milk that cow for a couple of years, at least.

And elections are so much more paletable when there's at least one "bozo candidate."

*Yawn*... obviously, it's me that you find interesting. I advise that you quit derailing the thread for the purpose of focusing on MOI and that instead you address me in private if you have any questions to which you think my answers would quench your curiousity.
