I've been to busy out in the back yard with the smoker.... and a couple racks of extra meaty ribs, a brisket, a shitload of split hickory logs, and my homemade bbq dry rub that got applied to the meat after it had been allowed to brine for 16 hours and then marinate in a second wet rub of mead, mustard, worchestershire, basalmic vinegar, and a dash of chipotle tabasco....

I've gotta go back out there in a few minutes, and throw a bit more wood in the firebox of the smoker...

Thank you.   :-)

I plan to do what I can to do my share to fix the messes that the world is in today.

While the fireworks are nice- I have to try harder to be humble- so that- I am more of a solution rather then the problem.

HUGs to all.

Humans matter.    Noise and nonsense, distraction, and divide, ouch.

While I appreciate the reason for this holiday....it still falls under holiday and I just cant get into them.
We got out and ran errands today and are sticking to the house to make sure random idiot neighbors dont catch the house on fire.

While firewords are all nice and pretty getting to planned ones is not worth the crowd

Probably the closest I will get is if my sister calls me from NYC to let me hear the actual booms of the huge display nyc does, she isnt far from the primary firing area and can hear them from the apt, while watching it on TV with it muted. LOL

I have to pass on the crowds and noise.  Bad combo for me.

Happy Independence Day to you and all others. London broil, honey BBQ chicken, hot off the grill, and fireworks later.

Something about things going 'boom", in my 20s that was fun.  At 45, it is jarring on the nerves.  Traffic was nuts 10 am yesterday.   I nearly wrecked 3 times just going for groceries.   I passed 3-4 cops, and I just wanted groceries.

This year- tho- things have been better then prior years.   Last year the next door had too wild of a party.  They moved- so hopefully ....things will be quieter.   Tho I see a bunch of rubbish tossed out on the street.   Someone has to pick that up.  So that means me.    People are slobs.

--I have my Ron Paul sign up. I got a nice honk the other day when I stepped to get the mail.    :-)

My grass needs to be cut.  I don't feel like cutting it- yet again.     I use a weed wacker to to the whole yard.   Being that today is a holiday- I don't really want to blare the weed wacker as a few want to enjoy the day.  :-)

8. The Fed is deliberately bankrupting our country. This is a private banking consortium, always meeting in secret to extract from us every last inflated, and now, worthless dollar a situation they created. The Fed is destroying our entire financial base. They have stolen TRILLIONS OF OUR TAXPAYER DOLLARS! These people are "citizens" of the United States; and yet they refuse to be held accountable, while they continue to steal our hard-earned money. The Constitution did not set up a private banking system. This is also illegal.   /snipfrom a rant,,, "it is all illegal".

I guess I'm not welcome at this party ... I'm not American OR from the USA but still enjoy the concept , The "states" beat the monarchy out of their lives, why shouldn't I ?

We enjoyed the day, hopes you understand ... it's not JUST a US party for some .
