Binxie starts with the stare, then goes to poking, just one nail, over and over until you give her attention.

Lord, I thought only KB did this.  His spots of choice are the ear or the shoulder.....or if he's feeling really lazy, he'll just reach out to the top of my head next to where he's lounging on my (OK, HIS) pillow and poke me there.

You wouldn't think it would get your attention but......OW!

Gracious used to tap my nose when I was asleep.... no claw (unless I ignored her too long)

GB, use the "reply" feature on the right side.  As far as I've found, that's the only way to get the link to upload pics to the boards.  I'm not exactly the most computer literate, so there may be another way.

Also, I use this site to resize the pics to fit.....

And post your furbaby's to your heart's content!

FelineFae -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/26/2011 8:38:54 PM)

Banshea is asleep in the bednest.
Richard is purring up a storm on my lap, and being very lovey.

Feline, everytime you mention Mr Hehasissues, it just makes me snort right out loud!  I love that name!

Char, your collection of furbabies are just gorgeous.  At least your dogs only slept in the cat's places.....KB had the same round kitty bed, and since Shiloh couldn't fit in it, he'd take the thing and HIDE it!  But KB didn't care, he'd just streeeeeeeeetch out on Shiloh's bed and leave him a teeny tiny corner for him to try to lay on.  Payback's a bitch!

Greedy, if your kittehs don't ride well in carriers, try putting a harness on them and letting them just be loose in the truck.  I know, it sounds suicidal, but mine did the moan and groan and piss and moan thing at the start of my trip from AZ to here, and then it took Squeaks and Smooch about 30 minutes to figure out how to unzip the carriers I put them in.  I gave up and let 'em all out, they ended up finding spots to crash, and occasionally, Smooch or Squeaks would wander over and get in my lap to look out the window, but all in all, they rode okay.

If your guys do ride well, I am soooo jealous.  Boo decided to stroll across the dashboard around Atlanta...in rush hour traffic.....at least the harness was a handy handle!  After that, he just hung out there on the dash.  I got some pretty strange double takes, and people who passed me slowed down to make sure they saw what they thought they saw......cats in the windows, cats on my lap......you'd think they 'd never seen one before!  [:D]

I had a kitten who I raised on the big truck. Her name was Rosie. She was a couple of months old when she hit the road with me. I put a bed on the passenger seat, but she really loved to ride on the dash. She thought that the windshield wipers could be caught from the inside. And there was a divider down the middle of the windshield & I taught her to stay on the passenger side. I know that some of the DOT guys are kinda looking for stuff to stop a truck driver for, so I taught her that when I said, "Scale!" she was to get off the dash & lie on her bed in the seat. It literally only took twice for her to learn the command!

When we had to get out of the truck for it to be repaired, we'd get to go to a motel. Now, most of you are probably aware that a motel room is much much huger than the cab of a big truck. And we know how kittehs like to run & play. I had a fold-down carrier that lived behind the passenger seat & whenever we got to go to a motel, I'd get out the carrier & put her in it. She got used to the idea that getting into the carrier meant that she was going some place great & I'd open the door & she'd walk in.

One day, we were at home & I needed to take her to the vet. My daughter had never seen her get into a carrier so she asked me if I needed help putting her into it. I said, "No thank you. Watch this!!" I walked over to the carrier, opened the door & called Rosie. She came running, walked into the carrier & laid down as I closed the door. The look on my daughter's face was priceless!!!

Linnea, ny parents took their dog and 2 cats out on the road with them when they took up driving again.  They had a brand new Freightliner that was huge.  Jade, their dog, would sit between the seats, or lay there, Lacey would sit on my mom's lap, and Tabby, the family fraidy cat, hid under the sleeping bag on the bed in back.  When they'd stop and get out, Jade would sit in my dad's seat, and Lacey would hop up in my mom's seat and they'd both be watching out the window for them to return.  Mom said they'd come out and find people taking pics of the trucking pooch and kitteh!  Tabby would venture out when the truck was stopped, but otherwise was hidden.

The only drawback was they got fat......no exercise, and they were out on the road a month at a time.  Now that they are home, they are all back to running around, so they should slim up in no time.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/27/2011 11:21:38 AM)

Rosie didn't get fat being on the truck. In the truck I was driving at the time, there were cubbies over the doors & above the windshield & they communicated. She would jump into the cubby on the passenger side, race across the cubby above the windshield, reach down & whack me on the head & run off again. One day I was driving & out of the corner of my eye, I saw her jump from the floor back by the bunk into the cubby above the windshield. LOL

The coolest thing, however, was when we got home & I would take her out of the truck & set her on the stationary floor & watch her stumble around on her sea legs! Sort of like an old sailor. Hehe.

Richard Hehasissues is being noisy in the kitchen.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/27/2011 11:56:36 AM)

Yesterday I bought a sisal mat that has a pocket in which to put catnip. The purpose of this thing is so da Boyz have something to claw rather than the furniture. I laid it down on the floor & they proceeded to give it lovies & rub all over it & fight with each other about who got to lie on it. *sigh*

What a great pic, Fae!

Teh Kittehs are wandering around, wondering WTF has happened to their world!  what still is in the house is not in it's usual place (except for my bed...)

Phoenixpower -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/27/2011 2:05:05 PM)

My Birmans needed today several times to be shown a deodorant bottle, to back off my cheeseburger [>:][>:][>:] (I don't spray it onto them but near them as a warning to leave my food alone...not often, but sometimes it is a help as Urmel would just laugh at a water bottle [>:])

Today showing them the bottle was enough to convince them that this food is not for them [:)]
