Maggie and I will keep our fingers (do kittehs have fingers?) crossed that everything is okay and comes back clear....or maybe something minor that can be cleared up.

Maggie btw is eyeing up my coffee mug, which she drank out of earlier....like that kitten NEEDS more energy.

Cat question here. Have you folks got a good online scratching post I could order? My dad's cat has scratched up everything, furniture, rugs, wallpaper. I don't want to carry one down on the train when I visit.

Celeste, Wal mart has this cardboard box scratcher that my cats absolutely LOVE...as long as they have one, they leave my furniture alone.  It's corrugated cardboard inside a cardboard box, sells for about $5 there, they are available online for various prices, but the ones I get in the store aren't on the website.  The ones in the store are the Smartykat brand, they are purple and come in 2 sizes.  They are treated with catnip to draw the cat to them, but mine have never had a problem with using it....they LOVE it.  Check out the Walmart.com site.....or just go to the local one when you get to where your going.  They are quite durable...I have 4 kittehs on the large on right now, and they last for several months.  The only problem I have with mine is that they will chew on the box the cardboard is in.....and they can get a little messy with the shavings from use, but a broom or vacuum will take care of that.

KB is giving me gray hairs......I'm dead asleep (finally) and suddenly hear someone trying the doorknob of my hotel room.  I pop up in bed, up before I'm really awake, expecting to see a someone, when it's actually KB...who has figured out how to open the lower door handle, which unlocks the secondary bolt on the door.  They have those damn lever type door handles here, and the doors aren't those heavy fire doors, so if he gets the combination of turning the handle and pulling on the door right, he's gonna be out the door.  Thank goodness I still have duct tape with me.....and there's the lever thingy that should keep the door from opening wide enough, and once he lets go of the handle, the door locks again anyway.....but damn!!!!!  Sometimes that cat is too smart for my own good!  I know he just wants to get out and party with all the neighborhood kittehs......little brat!

Yeow, S2S!!!! That IS scary.........yet oh so fascinating! [:D]

I'm sure my little shits are home snoozing by the windows waiting for me to come home so they can turn my place into the Indy 500 again![>:]

NihilusZero -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/16/2009 12:38:42 PM)

(not sure why I haven't popped in here previously...)

Orion is back on the top perch of the cat condo in the living room. He's been up there a good bit more often lately.

CarrieO -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/16/2009 12:57:18 PM)

One of my cats is doing this weird imitation of a dog, chasing her tail, while on my bed.  She stops every once in a while and just looks at me.

shannie -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/16/2009 1:03:50 PM)

My cat is sitting at my feet and staring at me -- sending me powerful telepathic commands to let him outside.  :)

Yes, they like waiting for the "speed bump" to get home!  Mine never get really wound up til I'm in bed.....then it's corner-to-corner time.....with me in the middle.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/17/2009 9:59:30 AM)

Dusty is sitting peacefully under the tree outside, enjoying the autumn day.  His rest is likely to be short-lived, however.  The neighbor's granddaughters are visiting today, so the minute they come outside, he'll take off.  Lily is now resting after being on a rampage this morning, galloping all over the house. Misty is enjoying a nice nap on top of my pillow.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/17/2009 6:58:34 PM)

KB had some wild hair working, he was jumping on Boo, who was asleep on the bed.....the squirt bottle took care of that.  Now all 4 are resting in various places.  They are trying to recover from the trauma of the vacuum cleaner.....it just MIGHT have eaten them alive!!!!!

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/18/2009 9:31:07 AM)

Lily is sitting here, staring up at me imploringly, reminding me that she needs to be petted again.

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/18/2009 9:33:25 AM)

It appears that Maggie is a wire chewer. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to protect the wires for my laptop. She has already pretty much disabled my cam and I would rather she not do the same thing to my laptop.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/18/2009 4:06:45 PM)

Zephyr, there are many bitter sprays on the market that you can apply to a cotton ball and wipe the wires with.  And as long as Maggie is a little squirt yet, invest in a squirt bottle...no pun intended.  Use it when she's doing something that you don't want her to do.  DON'T aim for the face, use the stream setting to be able to get it to her, after a while, all you'll have to do is just put the bottle out where she sees it, or just pick it up and let her see it, and she'll stop doing whatever it is she's doing.

You might try getting some of the stuff that you use to wrap the cables together into one....the stuff that looks like curly Q's...I have no idea what it's called, but I found it in the electrical plugs and wiring stuff in Wal-mart by the light bulbs.  It's pretty durable, and not so easy to chew thru.  And she may very well outgrow the chewing.....she's probably just cutting her teeth.....maybe you can find a piece of rawhide in the dog section to give her something to chew on?  It's a thought......

Tabasco saved some of my wiring and these helped quite a bit:

Thanks for the tip angelika, what I'm looking for is something for when I'm at work so she will leave the wires alone.

Phoenixpower -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/20/2009 10:33:54 AM)

My lil one just fell in the toilet...right after I used it [8|]

I just got up and before I had a chance to flush it she had jumped up the toilet and slipped, ending up with her front paws in the ... water ... [8|]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/20/2009 1:09:47 PM)

Two of mine keep tricking the other OUT of the carrier......sort of like "HEY!  Come see what I've got!!!", and then once the one is out, the other sneaks in.  KB is basking in the window soaking up the sun, Boo is passed out on the floor....it's such a tough life!

pahunkboy -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/21/2009 1:36:56 PM)

My cat is up on the bed.  Washing.

I should let her out so that she will come in tonight.
