KB decided that he was bored, woke me up, and then settled down for a nap........so I poked him and pushed him off the bed.  Let HIM see what it's like to be disturbed while sleeping!

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/9/2009 7:16:05 PM)

Lucky you Soul..........it's bedtime and Maggie just decided to go into "wildtime". Not a chance I'll get any sleep now.  [8|]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/9/2009 9:04:37 PM)

Well, once KB was back up and around, he and Squeaks decided to run laps.....in a tiny little hotel suite.......thank goodness I wasn't on the bed, since that was their main path of destruction.  Smooch is still hiding in the closet on the hotel bedspread sleeping soundly.  Boo is just sort of wandering around looking for a scratch.  He always waits for me to be in the bathroom when he wants to be scratched.....he absolutely won't get up on the bed when I'm there...I've tried to tell him that it's the best place, both of us would be comfortable!

I am so sorry to hear that Greedy.  Hope Gracious is okay.

Thank you *hug*

Phoenixpower -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/10/2009 4:56:57 AM)

Hope your Gracious will come out allright and that you get her sorted soon Greedy [&o]

My lil one decided a moment ago to wander outside on the window sill and realised that turning around isn't that easy for a lil cat either...and yep...fell down...lucky her I live in a ground floor flat [:D]

As she didn't react with a response when I looked through the window (I could not see her) I went to the front door to call her...leading her to walk away to the neighbours garden [8|]

[sm=Groaner.gif] so I changed from my pyjamas to some more suitable clothes to go outside and then she finally bothered to come back from there...It's still quite an adventure for her outside but since she was lost a while ago as I had mentioned I simply still prefer to have a bit on an eye on her as I don't want another plenty hour search for her...

apart from that her birman colours are now coming more and more through, thank goodness...my first cat ever where I was looking forward for her to grow up as her fur is just more beautiful when her colours are fully come out.

A question regarding catnip, do people buy it fresh or dried?? I would like to get some for Lolly-cat but can only find dried catnip. Thanks....

I have only been able to find dried catnip, too.  I have never found anyplace that sold it fresh.  I did find these instructions for growing your own catnip, but I don't think that's something I'll be doing.
http://www.wikihow.com/Grow-Catnip

I buy the dried catnip for mine.  I tried the fresh growing stuff from PetSmart and Petco, they didn't touch it.  If you want to get greens into them, grow some oat grass.....that's all the seeds are that are marketed in pet stores as "kitty greens".  It grows fast, and my cats love the stuff!

My kittehs love dried catnip......they eat it, then roll in it.....all high and stuff...their little pupils are dialated, and they run around like fools...add in a laser pointer, and you've got some great entertainment!!!!!

Thanks for this info......now I need to know how you administer or give it to your cats....stupid question maybe, but I really don't know, the only stuff I have so far is in little bags inside these fabulous silicone mice...they bounce around like crazy balls....much fun to watch her throw and chase.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/10/2009 11:33:02 AM)

One of the white neighborhood cats who eats my outdoor cat's food was teasing one of my indoor cats today.  My kitty kept meowing insistently from the bedroom, so I got up to see what was going on.  She was on the window ledge inside.  The white cat was outside just sitting there looking at her as if to say, "ha ha, you can't get to me" LOL.

My cat is maintaining a no fly zone around the house

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/10/2009 2:32:47 PM)

Gracious is hanging out in her carrier again.  I've gotten to eat a bit today..although it's taken her 2 days to go through less than half of a tin of the food she seems to be favoring (meow mix salmon and crab).

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/10/2009 3:26:30 PM)

Shelly, I have one of those cardboard scratchers for them.....and I just pour out a few small piles on it, and they eat it off of that.  You can just put it down anywhere for them, they'll eat it anywhere.  When they've eaten what they want, mine usually roll in it too......once they are done, I just sweep up the crumbs.  The scratchers are great, they keep them off my furniture.  All they are is corrugated cardbaord in a cardboard box.  Wal-Mart has the best price on them, but you can get them at PetSmart and Petco, too.

Just make sure that you put the catnip in the fridge.....it loses it's effectiveness once exposed to air, and KB actually knows what the bag looks like, and will go after it if I don't put it in the fridge....so far, it's the only door he can't open!  Several times, I've discovered that KB ripped open the bag and eaten the whole thing.

Greedy, I hope Gracious gets to feeling back up to par.  {{{{{hugs}}}} from my kittehs to yours!

Chloe is licking her toes.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/10/2009 5:42:50 PM)

Lily bit all the feathers off of one of her feathers on a stick.   Now she's decided that is her official fetching stick and kept bringing it to me to throw so she could retrieve it again.  Now that she's all pooped out from doing that, she's holed up in her kitty condo resting.

Daddysredhead -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/10/2009 8:30:21 PM)

Chloe is sleeping peacefully under the chair.  I'm so sadistic.  All I keep thinking is how fast she would fly down the hall if I popped a bag near her right now.  [:D]

*I know... it's terrible, but the thought is funny!*

Daddysredhead -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/10/2009 11:47:36 PM)

My cat is freaking me out because she is staring at something real or imagined under the fridge, batting at it with her paw.  I don't know if it's a piece of kibble that got under there, or what the heck it is... but she is now in a staring contest with it.  [8|]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/11/2009 12:42:56 AM)

Red, that's nothing...try sitting alone in your living room with 4 of them suddenly sitting up and staring off in the general area of your bedroom.......I HATE when cats do that!!!!!  All I can think of is that they are seeing some evil, vile ghostie lurking in there.....and of course, I then have to get up and go turn on the lights and allay their fears.....and mine too!  I think they do it on purpose....I'm pretty sure I've heard a snicker or two when I turn on all the lights!

Right now, KB and Boo are in a staring contest....the one that occurs right before they pounce on each other......just waiting for the other to blink!

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/11/2009 7:11:39 AM)

(two minutes ago) Lying on my head [8|]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/11/2009 10:44:28 AM)

Just lolling around being lazy, I mean, being cats.....Boo acts like he's got a wild hair working, but the others are all flopped around playing kitteh rug.  I fel sorta bad for them....they are used to a huge apartment, and we're in a tiny hotel suite.  Once I get working, we'll do the whole looking and moving thing......well, I'LL do the moving thing.......they will be hiding in the closet!
