Mine were nosey today as I packed the rental car for my move....at some point mum added something into it, following which Pepper crawled out there somewhere....jeeeeesh, I would not fancy to drive for a while and then realising any of them is in there (well...I want them in there of course, but its just not possible at my temporary flat....in the past it would have been but since once colleague neglected her 2 cats in there when she was sick for many months, they arent keen on pets in there...so I just suck it up for now [:o]).

Anyhow, Pepper isn't happy and she was the most distressed cat last time when we moved overseas....but the others are relaxed lying around...the birmans needed some gentle persuation to MOVE as they just love to lie in the middle of the carpet which I was walking on with my moving boxes and couldn't care less to go aside....[8|]

yea from what i know its pretty much any type of fish Mystic.

My kitteh has chosen her mix of food she likes to eat pet food wise. it is Friskies indoor kitteh with Purina Healthy morsels for the dogs LOL.

and for some reason every time i mention her on this thing she changes what shes doing almost instantaiously.

EmeraldsPheonix -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/14/2011 7:30:41 AM)

well as far as what mine are up to this morning... they are a chaoitic mess. they have been tackling each other and playing. now blondie has crashed out under the couch again after getting in trouble for jumping mommys barracade that was built to keep her from getting in the litter box, meanwhile mystic is sitting in the bedroom door crouched down thinking of what to do next, and sasha is curled up on mommy and daddys bed relaxing.

other than that im going to get jumped by all three when i fill the water bowl for the day and put the food down.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/14/2011 4:02:31 PM)

Angel was a very bad girl today. She likes to intimidate Misty (and some of my neighbor's cats) occasionally. Today poor Misty was in one of the litter boxes doing her business, and Angel tried to corner her so that she couldn't get out. Poor Misty should not have to put up with that type of harassment and Angel got yelled at big time. I went to find the water bottle to spray her, but by then she realized she had done a no-no and had slunk off in contrition.

Did you know that de-clawing removes the first digit off the kitty's "finger"? Can you say "ouch!!!"?

This. Declawing is a misnomer, it's actually an amputation.

MstrDennynSlave -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/15/2011 10:07:32 AM)

My cat is looking out the window at the leaves falling. Occasionally she looks back at me n meows. Like she's telling me she wants to go outside. She is afraid of the outside world. She will stand where she is with eyes wide as saucers and not move if she happens to be outside.

EmeraldsPheonix -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/15/2011 10:11:22 AM)

i have been around kittehs that have been declawed and from what i can tell all it is is a removal of the nail from the paw so as to keep them from either scratching the owner or furnature expecially if being an indoor only kitteh.

Mystic is Indoor only and well she likes to use the furnature to shed her nails to make them longer instead of her 2 towers and clawing pads that i have for her.

I plan on eventually when me and my husband get a house building her a wall thingy to climb and claw on and such but for now i cant.

What it involves is the removal of the "toe" to the first joint and possibly the joint itself - far more than just the nail. http://www.declawing.com/

We have four indoor cats. Only one is declawed (because she came that way.) It is such a gruesome and hideous thing to do that many (humane) countries have outlawed declawing.

EmeraldsPheonix -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/15/2011 10:37:22 AM)

wow it doesnt seem when im trimming her nails that they are actually part of a joint on her paw. i had talked once before about this and i think when i get the money and hopefully before i have the baby im going to get her the soft paws instead. and hope that i can put them on right and get them to stay on for as long as possible.

When I adopted a rescue kitty, I was required to sign an agreement stating that I would never declaw the cat, and never did. Not that I would have considered doing it anyway.

Another thing to consider is that despite an owner's best intentions, an indoor cat can sometimes get out. One of my former subs left the front door open just a crack for five minutes several years ago. During that time, Misty (an "indoor only" cat) slipped out and was outside for one month before I got her back. I was very glad I had never declawed her, since she was placed in the situation of having to fend for herself for that month.

TheFireWithinMe -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/15/2011 10:40:05 AM)

Yeah, a lot of people don't realize that. Like you I was horrified when I found out what it actually entails. You might ask the vet how to put the Soft Paws on, I'm sure s/he can help you out.

EmeraldsPheonix -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/15/2011 10:55:03 AM)

i looked on the soft paw site and it explains it pretty clear so it should be ok. i just gotta come up with the $23 to get the pack so that i can put them on her front paws. i dont think ill put them on her rear ones cuz she doesnt needle with them very much.

xxblushesxx -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/15/2011 10:57:23 AM)

Luckily, our cats seldom claw what they're not supposed to, but if they were, I'd get an empty can (coke or whatever) make sure it's clean, and put a handful of pennies inside. Then every time (s)he did something I didn't want them to, I'd shake the can very close to them. It only takes a few times for them to get the message.

TheFireWithinMe -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/15/2011 10:58:47 AM)

Okay that's cool. I just thought that since they are generally available (and possibly less expensive) at the vet that you could take advantage and get the vet to show you as long as you're there anyway.

I just had a thought. Maggie used to claw my sofa - thankfully old - until my mom gave us an old rug to claw. She hasn't touched the sofa since. Have you tried stuff like that? You may well discover something that your cat(s) enjoy more than your furniture.

EmeraldsPheonix -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/15/2011 2:26:44 PM)

unfortunately fire the toy that i had for her that she enjoyed i think the faries ran off with it because i cant find the frigger anywhere and i didnt know that vets had that too and they might even be higher quality too [:D] meaning they last longer *WEG*

i have to come up with the money first before i can do any vet stuffs or replace the kitteh toy that was lost.

TheFireWithinMe -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/15/2011 2:38:18 PM)

Personally I think she has it in that special secret place cats have for the stuff they love. Have no fear you'll trip over it one of these days. [:D]

<nods> I would be more inclined to buy at the vet rather than online - and I buy stuff online all the time.

EmeraldsPheonix -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/15/2011 2:42:28 PM)

yep now for where it got hidden at by her when we moved so much and for the money to make the solution to the clawing problems.

speaking of the kitteh she just emerged from the bedroom from a nap. probably wanting the food bowl back down since i had to pick it up when i went to run an errand.
