Mystic if i were you i would have stuck the sandwich in the fridge if it was a cold sandwich or microwave if it was a warm one just so that i wouldnt have had to keep an eye on it LOL.

Yes, I will need to do something like that next time. She would no doubt stand outside the microwave or refidgerator wailing, but at least she would not be attacking me while I was on the phone trying to hold a conversation. I still have a stratch on my arm from yesterday.

Yea the Kittehs are like that.

He is insistant that he gets to do that and he is getting old enough and he isnt Mystics kittehn so i dont know what to do HELP!!! other than that all is well other than my mind being fried and almost done with this term just to turn around and start right back up the following day. I also hate teh weather changes it made me so sick and such it sucks.

Emerald, although it may not be Midnight's case, it is NOT uncommon for cats who are stressed, OCD, or weaned too early as kittens (before 8 weeks or so), to self-sooth by continuing to nurse/suckle after adolescence or maturity.

Consider your cat may have a greater chewing need than others, in which case rawhide strips, or raw chicken necks (whole or chopped in pieces) may be given. Believe it or not, raw chicken and turkey necks are completely safe for cats and dogs, as the bones are soft, won't splinter, and are easily chewed and digested. There has NEVER been been a case of a cat/dog being harmed by this, and any Vets who disapprove of this, are simply woefully uninformed.

You can also offer catnip, cat grass, or lettuce on which to nibble, which may provide an acceptable outlet for licking, suckling, or chewing needs.

One can also transfer the behavior onto a non-toxic, non-ingestible, cat-safe object. Choose one w/o plastic or ribbons (etc.), i.e., nose, eyes, whiskers, that can conceivably be sucked or chewed off.

Completely rub the chosen object all over Mystic's belly/chest/mammary glands to cover it w/her scent/body oils/milk. When Midnight goes to suckle Mystic, present him/her with the object. Be gentle and patient. The more often you do this, the sooner the "little sucker" will switch over.

There is also a product called the "Catsifier; a pillow on one side, with 4 nipples on the other. Some cats will transfer the behavior to this.

What breed is Midnight?

I can't improve upon DuskyPearl's excellent advice, but do hope you feel better soon. It sounds like a very stressful time.

My darlings have continued their streak of good behavior. Of course, I was gone most of the day yesterday, and things may have happened that I'm not aware of [;)] However, whatever they did, there is no evidence of it.

He is a kitteh that i took in from the wild/ outdoor only. I think hes one of the patchwork kittehs cuz he has one white spot on his belly and a few white stray whisps on his neck plus the one that i think is daddy that i see is patchwork black and white.

i will definitly make a file and keep this in mind to try and break him of it because i think he suckles to hard on mystic at times and it pisses her off at him and he Mrows till i stop him.

Isnt that always the case though no obvious evidence or so you think for a bit then you find the hidden evidence of the romp and torture like 3 days later LOL.

One time I found evidence a few months later with a kitty I used to own. I would brag on her and say how good she was about not scratching the furniture UNTIL I rearranged the furniture and found that she had trashed the back of a chair! Not the entire back, just an area that I would not normally see. I used to just vacuum around that chair and didn't know what she had been doing until I actually moved the chair.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/9/2012 5:39:38 PM)

Wow, I got free vocal accompaniment at dinner. Misty "serenaded" me with meows nonstop during the entire time I was preparing dinner, when dinner was in the oven and when dinner was served. Guess she should be rewarded with a few tidbits for all of her efforts, LOL.

ETA - After all that effort, she ended up turning up her nose at steak. Angel, however, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Duskypearls -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/9/2012 6:02:27 PM)

While laying in bed and mucking around on this computer, I am flanked by both furballs; grey and white Pearl on the left, and black and white Weenie on the right. My hips are nice and toasty now!

Mine are hard to predict. I noticed that the price of the meat, fish, or poultry has nothing to do with whether they'll eat it or not--sometimes they turn their noses up at expensive cuts of steak and expensive types of fish, yet will gobble down canned tuna. Angel isn't nearly as picky as Misty. Maybe that's how Misty stays so tiny.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/10/2012 10:00:15 PM)

Little Bit is playing ninja kitteh on my bedroom curtain. He's decided it's great fun to climb said curtain to the top and hang there. I keep trying to get a picture, so far, he drops off when I get it focused. I have new curtains to put on the window, however, I'll have to move the bed away from the window so it's not so tempting. I'm sure the time will come that he'll drop down on to my head....I'm sooooo looking forward to that! NOT!!!! [>:]

Duskypearls -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/10/2012 10:15:31 PM)

Pearl's fast asleep against my left thigh, and Weenie is in my face, asking me if I know just how lucky I am to have and serve her!

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/10/2012 10:47:24 PM)

My new contact lenses came in and I'm wearing them a lot, but the cats are glad I still sometimes wear my glasses. They love rubbing up against them, especially when I'm trying to watch TV. Not the easiest thing to do when kitties are messing with your glasses!

Not to mention the nose spoooooge left behind! Squeaks just loooooves to put her lil wet nose on the lenses! Then she just sits and smiles while I wipe them off.....and gets me again when I'm not paying attention. She's my little hugger mugger......and so hard to resist with those pretty blue eyes and her little "squeak" of a meow.

that is most likely why Mystic. I know mine arnt all that picky but they run around playing enough that i guess thats how they keep their weight off.

I always buy the cheapest but you could swear the way my hubby makes it sometimes that it was one of the most expensive cuts LOL.

EmeraldsPheonix -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/14/2012 8:27:10 AM)

Dusky i remembered what i am thinking his breed is finally. hes a calico of sorts.

other things in life is that i got mystics critter care voucher so she will be going at 8:30 monday morning to dr joe to get fixed. I hope she doesnt gain exorbent amounts of weight after this. i like having her be slim.

This morning when i was half awake lying on my back either mystic or midnight were curled up on the Um's location and sleeping. They probably purred most of the night hince why the UM didnt keep me up kicking.

I have to wait till after monday to get midnights voucher in the mail because critter care goofed and didnt get his in the mail at the same time so thats going to be fun.

all thats left is when Dr joe gets mystic is finding out what shots need updated so that i can get them budgeted in for dr joe to do.

Other than that i think all is well and im going to wrap up here since ive already been at the library an hr and need to go home and relax and maybe ill try to anticipate some school work. :D
