Serious help needed.

I have 2 cats, both were semi feral when I lived in the house & now I've been in a 2nd floor apartment for 2 years & getting out is difficult for them. The old one is about 19 this yr & no problem, the younger one is about 10 has always been a mentalist but has taken to pissing on anything belonging to my kid. He isn't cruel to her or abusive, the kitty litter is always clean I can't get her rehomed & if I can't get this fixed it's bye bye kitty.

Sorry to hear you are having this problem.

Have you had the cat checked out to eliminate possible medical problems?

It is curious that the cat is peeing only on your kid's belongings. Did your kid start living with you recently? Has anything changed recently between your cat and your kid?

I found an article that has some helpful suggestions:

Hope you find a resolution to this issue.

Mine are asking to go out in the snow, then coming back in one minute later, then asking to go back out the next minute. Does anyone want to adopt a cat?

No matter which side of the door they are on, they will ALWAYS want to be on the other side! It's a kitteh rule one must accept. Yes, it drives us hoomans nuts, but it's just another thing that kittehs just must do!

Lilly likes to take walks. She slips out the door, down to one end of the hall way, then to the other end, pausing to sniff at each door, then back to the apartment to demand food.

Is the cat fixed?

xxblushesxx -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/24/2012 5:49:58 AM)

First things first. Get him to a vet. Do it asap. Many times we think it's a mental thing when it's a physical thing. Even if it is mental, there are ways to fix that too. But your first step is the vet's office. Let us know what happens.

Niney, here's where many folks contributed to the issue you're having with kitty.

Cashie just snagged my foot (time to trim toes, it is!). I was going outside and he was lurking by the front door. I used my foot to try to push him back (as usual) but this time, he snagged me and didn't wanna move.

beast.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/24/2012 9:44:47 AM)

The brats had plenty of dry food in their food bowl. Nonetheless, I brought in a new bag of food and had it sitting on the floor in another room until I had time to put it away. One of them bit into it and tore the bag open to get a snack. Too lazy to walk about 10 feet to the food bowl, or maybe it was just more fun tearing the bag open.

Duskypearls -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/24/2012 7:36:53 PM)

I admit it turns out the cat I went over to help at a friends house, last week, did have severe, Chronic Renal Failure, and had to be euthanized. The owner feels terrible about not addressing the symptoms sooner.

People, when your cats lose weight and go off their feed/water for more than a day, if at all possible, get 'em into the vet, as it can go real bad, pretty quickly. It'd be a shame, after they're seriously suffering or dead, to look back on those signs that were there, but you hoped would resolve themselves on their own. Remember, unlike dogs, cats do NOT fare well without food after a day or so.

RIP Leo.

*poor Leo*

Bubba kitty was just staring at the door to go out. He is not an outdoor cat, but he is a Houdini wannabe. We both got a surprise this morning when he was sleeping in the tub. I didn't know, so I turned on the water for my shower. The shower curtain went flying and one very sopping wet cat emerged, flicking paws everywhere. Thing 2 had a giggle fit. He didn't look amused. I can only imagine that he is going to try to kill me in my sleep tonight. [:o]

Poor Bubba Baby...that's funny, in a sick kinda way. He'll probably need therapy after that! Way to go, Red! Keep 'em on their toes!

xXLithiumXx -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/24/2012 8:21:53 PM)

I have three.

Jack is being a bastard. That is what he does. He sits around glaring at everyone, no matter what. Even when he is purring, he is a grumpy bastard.
Flake is being an androgynous bastard. It's a persian/siamese mix, so we have long silky white hair with crystal blue eyes and a giant sac. He is so Lady Gaga. ( I mean that in a good way.)
D'ohghee(d.o.g) is being a tiny bastard. He is the smallest of the three and is always getting into something, always. Like an infant just learning to walk. Today it is that my bookshelf almost reaches the attic access that is forever just barely hanging open. He has decided that if he dangles from it enough, the other cats with dangle from him, and united they can thus climb into the attic and make a nest in the insulation.
